中國電影公映許可證的取得，依據《電影管理條例》的相關規定進行，相關條款包括：

國家實行電影審查制度。未經中華人民共和國廣播電影電視總局（簡稱廣電總局）審查通過的電影片，不得在中華人民共和國境內發行、放映、進口、出口。

電影審查機構應當自收到報送審查的電影片之日起30日內，將審查決定書面通知送審單位。審查合格的，由廣電總局發給《電影片公映許可證》及《電影片公映許可證》證號片頭，該片頭由廣電總局統一製作。

電影製片單位或者電影進口經營單位應當將《電影片公映許可證》證號片頭印製在該電影片拷貝第一本片頭處。
