在影片開始不久，有一個情節，是江姐見到孫明霞。她微笑著問：「明霞，生我的氣了吧？」因為我一直沒看過開頭，在這個情節以前就沒看過了，所以不知江姐為何問了這句話（是否是因為組織沒有批准孫明霞去川北？）。但那種親切的微笑、親切的話語，一下就把她樸素、和藹、平易近人的品質體現了出來。
江姐看到城門上掛著丈夫頭顱的那一場，我覺得氛圍營造得非常好：淅淅瀝瀝的陰雨、三三兩兩的農民、高高聳立的城門，直到江姐看清了布告，這一切安排，直接營造了「路上行人慾斷魂」的氛圍。
在江姐的性格中，最感染我的是她面對一切風險、考驗，直至酷刑與死亡時所表現出的那種樂觀鎮定、泰然自若。這一點在審訊、犧牲時都表現的尤為突出。
審訊那一場，江姐的沉靜和徐鵬飛的暴怒形成了鮮明的對比。「上級的姓名、住址我知道，下級的姓名、住址我也知道……」這一段話，聽起來莊重無畏。在這時可以感到，那群擁有著各色刑具、身強體壯的特務，在她這樣一位看似柔弱的女共產黨員面前，都顯得塵土一般渺小。滅絕人性的毒刑拷打之下，女英雄毫不屈服，讓我肅然起敬。還有一個細節讓我久不能忘：徐鵬飛說了一段話，大意是說江姐的丈夫死了，留下個小孩誰來帶？再過個三年五載，孩子長大了，怕是連爹媽也不認識。這時，江姐轉過頭背對敵人，我看到她眼裡似乎閃過一絲淚光。我能夠感受到她作為一位好妻子、好母親對丈夫、兒子深深的愛。
犧牲的那一場，幾次我都是含著眼淚看完的。《國際歌》音樂響起，悲壯！震撼！江姐換上旗袍，整理衣裝時的從容不迫，以及和許雲峰共赴刑場，向戰友們揮手告別的那種「風蕭蕭兮易水寒」的悲壯，在我心裡凝成了永恆！
看到最後被囚的革命者們沖出牢籠，和解放軍擁抱、握手的場面，我有些辛酸。因為這畢竟只是一種美好的理想，心中始終忘不了大屠殺中300多人遇難的慘烈。
最後一次看《烈火中永生》是在2005年7月5日，就是一年前的這一天。之所以記得這么清楚，是因為在兩天後的7月7日，我走進了中考的考場。正因為心中那一份激動，考試中我絲毫沒有緊張，超常發揮考進了重點高中。在我的生活、學習里，毫無疑問，《烈火中永生》給了我很大的幫助。這時我在初中最困難的一段時期里都沒有畏縮不前過。
遺憾的是，到現在我也沒能完整地看過《烈火中永生》，只能期待著下一次機會了。
