大多數人第一次聽到《When you wish upon a star》這首歌都是在迪斯尼動畫開頭，伴隨著美麗的星空，絢爛的煙火，神秘夢幻，屹立在廣袤大地上的城堡，聽著這激動人心的管弦樂改編版，進入夢幻世界。

歌曲來源於迪士尼的第二部動畫長片《匹諾曹》的中匹諾曹的爸爸向星星許願，希望能讓他有個兒子時的插曲。
