从内地角度来说，电影名的翻译做的还是比较不错的，讲究直译和意译相结合，是观影者能从电影名称就知道这部电影具体要讲什么，符合大部分人的文化习惯。可能大部分动画电影会被冠以“XX总动员”的名称而略显乏味，但还是符合电影剧情的。但相对的，台湾和香港地区因为各自区域的特殊性，语言文化不仅具有原住民语言特色还掺杂了其他文化的特点，对内地人来说，电影的译名可能就显得比较奇葩了。比如下面的这几部。

去年大热的电影《疯狂动物城》，英文名称zootopia，才用zoo+utopia相结合的方式，直译“动物乌托邦”，但这样的话看起来是一个非常沉重的名字，与动画本身诙谐幽默的剧情不相符，内地译名“疯狂动物城”就比较好了。但反过来，香港译名“优兽大都会”，台湾译名“动物方城市”，两个名称直接亮瞎了我的眼，优兽是什么东西？动物方城市，动物方面的城市？这也太直白了吧。说实话要是我一看这名字，看都不会去看电影。

有些中文的意境是英文翻译不出来的。
比如有些古典的小说啊，诗词啊，外文却翻译的很直白，意境都没有了。
这是要从小在中国文化的熏陶下才能形成的，老外不是说明白就明白的。

而外国的文化有些也是中国人不能理解的。说道电影，好像有个电影叫白雪公主中国人就翻译成一个女人和七个男人的故事。尤其是大陆和港台，翻译的版本都不一样，很多都胡乱翻译，还有的故意把名字翻译的很色情以此靠名字色情赚上座率。

反正文化差异是很大的，交流融汇是可以的，但是不可能真正的体会到原汁原味的东西。

很简单，中国人只接受能看出影片内容、基调的片名。

我感觉这种翻译惯例并不止是外译中，中译英也存在。比如《我的父亲母亲》翻译成The Road Home；《金陵十三钗》翻译成Roses of War，都是为不熟悉影片基调的外国人补足了场景。《霸王别姬》本来取自民间传说故事，英译Farewell my Concubine使用了第一人称，补足了故事悲伤的感情基调。

⑨ 关于英语电影片名的翻译问题

理论的话，现在比较统一的是目的论（Skopos Theory 或 Skopstheorie）。目的论主要包含四个基本规则The Skopos rule， The Coherence rule， The Fidelity rule， 以及The Loyalty principle。 结合电影片名的英译来讲，就是将电影固有英文片名以及电影内容相结合来进行翻译，也可以看作是直译和意译的结合。其中主要运用的翻译方式是归化和异化，英文就是Domestication and foreignization。
最后补充一点，毕竟理论是通过实践总结出来的，所以也不好说现在片名的翻译有什么通用理论，只能说根据翻译成品，翻译过程等等来讲，大部分片名翻译与某个理论相符合。
