Many people simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. Mrs. Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. Mr. Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr. Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different. Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. Mary likes reading classic books. (Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesn』t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia. Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. When I read the book, I can always find the same personalities in the society now. 把一部小說改編成電視劇是件難事，再濃縮成2個小時的電影就更要取其精華還要讓故事情節流暢，05版《傲》看來故事發展還是有些迅速，有些地方銜接得有些生硬，有些人物的交待還是不夠明朗，不過，這些都不是問題，這些都不可避免，整體來說還是非常流暢節奏緊湊速度適中的，在改變的幾個場景上我覺得還有過之而無不及。比如達西先生第一次向伊麗莎白求婚，小說是在房間里，而電影改到了一個戶外的雨天，一來電影為了情節發展不得不作調整，二來調整後的場景更具表現力，更符合現代人的口味。求婚這種浪漫的事，在一個死板板的客廳總不如在雨天里古樸的建築下來的動人吧。大概也是導演了解到現代都市生活已經讓我們對灰濛蒙的摩天高樓，黑壓壓的人潮攢動失去了興趣，於是更加突出了英國郊外恬靜的山水風光，很多浪漫的場景都發生在一片湖光山色中，而英國常見的雨也起了很大的作用，觀眾能從雨後的鏡頭中感受到清新和自然的芬芳。最後的場景達西先生又一片雲霧中走來，天一點一點的變亮，影影綽綽的達西先生也逐漸變得清晰，一切有種夢幻般的感覺，這都是導演在鏡頭運用上塑造的美感，而沒領略過這類景緻單純讀書的讀者們就無法體會這種詩一般的美麗了。
