這個結尾是導演（是法國一個著名女導演）特別安排的，青春期青澀愛情的所謂刻骨銘心，不過是一種青春的萌動，深情的一眼便可以通通推翻。
其實，這樣的情況難道不會發生在成人的愛情上嗎？一眼深情，所謂山盟海誓，一樣土崩瓦解。
愛就是愛，沒有責任、沒有約束，只是隨心所欲。這樣的觀點，目前在國內恐怕未被接受，但是倒是很符合法國人（看看片中那個老奶奶）的想法，即使是在1980年（這部電影是1980年的作品）。
