性的反思中，首先受到質疑的是1970年代以來流行於電影

大理論」的蔭佑下浮出，重新成為眾多電影學者討論和研
究的重點。（1）2004年，伴隨美英規模最大的學科組織「電
影研究學會」（Society for Cinema Studies）應映情勢的變
化更名為「電影與媒體研究學會」（Society for Cinema&
Media Studies），學會季刊《電影雜志》（Cinema Journal）
也在春季號和秋季號的「焦點」（In Focus）專欄匯集了一批
有影響的電影學者，就電影學科在美英的發展狀況和電影研

換一種角度看，電影後百年時期美英電影學界的這種
歷史轉向或許也反映了更廣泛意義的「範式轉型」（paradigm
shift）。如果說托馬斯·庫恩（Thomas Kuhn）在科學哲學
基礎上提出的範式轉型必須以現存範式的危機為條件的話，
那麼，電影後百年時期的「危機」不僅反映在宏大理論面對
日益豐富復雜的電影創作實踐逐漸顯現了闡釋的僵化和教
條，而且也體現在數字技術的出現和成熟迫使電影學者重新
思考一系列形成於膠片電影製作、發行、放映（接受）基礎上
的觀念和理論。僅以文本為例。從其脫胎自傳統人文、社會
科學而自成獨立學科起，電影研究的對象就是以膠片為介質、
以放映機投射到銀幕上、在暗黑劇院里群體觀看的電影文本。
但是，這一文本在很大程度上卻因數字技術的發展和普及被
邊緣化了。傳統電影文本不僅會因數字化而改變形態（如字
幕、版本、畫面縱橫比、色彩明暗和聲音，乃至鏡頭和敘事
的互動變化等），更會因為數字化所帶來的展示平台和觀看
環境的不同而發生變異。換言之，後百年時期電影學科的最
大「危機」恐怕是傳統研究對象的消失：文本在哪裡？哪一
個是文本？哪一種語境下的文本？
範式轉型帶動了歷史的思考。在「歷史轉向」的大語
境下，關於早期電影及其歷史的討論和寫作成了很多學者共
同的旨趣。不過，後百年時期對早期電影的關注，無論在問
題提出還是在歷史思考方面，都具有明顯的當代特徵。除了
對檔案材料和第一手資料重要意義的強調、並以此凸現與重
理論輕資料的「宏大理論」派的區別外，「早期電影熱」中
