首先一點，想要搞清楚寂靜嶺世界就得明白它的「三元」世界觀。。。也就是說，寂靜嶺在某些神秘力量（後面再說）的促使下，已經有了3個平行的世界。分別是：正常世界（就是你天天呆著的世界，影片中那個所謂「黃澄澄」的、都是正常人的世界）、表世界（那個大霧彌漫、都是廢墟的世界）、里世界（那個黑乎乎的、都是鐵絲和血跡、有很多兇猛怪物、電影中警報響後的世界）。這個「三元」世界觀組成的寂靜嶺概念是這個游戲的基礎，但在游戲中表現得比較晦澀、難懂，但在多年的SH游戲玩家的交流和官方的認證下，以初步定性~
記得好萊屋的影評看後都說這片子相當的晦澀、世界觀相當的新穎~其實這只是把游戲中的概念照版過來而已，而且電影中大量的三個世界的穿插、交織，和那個男的在真實世界裡已經能夠感受到他妻子的存在（其實這是不可能的，懂平行世界的都知道，平行世界間只是時間軸相同，並不會有交點的），我個人覺得這已經褻瀆了寂靜嶺的晦澀風格，但為了照顧大部分連黑客帝國這種「二元」世界觀都不懂的影迷，這還是可以接受的。
應大部分小白白們不懂結尾是什麼意思，想先了解結尾的意思，我就先解釋結尾吧。
首先露絲帶著她的女兒（其實這里也有很多蹊蹺的東西，後面講）飛出懸崖，走上回家的路，有沒有發現這里有很多細節是在暗示你，這里依然是表世界：路上依然都是大霧，來時的那個熱鬧的加油站凄涼無人，另一面丈夫的世界卻還「黃澄澄」的、還下著雨。。。你可能會問了，寂靜嶺表世界不也有人嗎？那些人其實是被神秘力量（也就是艾麗絲與她的黑暗搭檔「簽約」後所得到的力量）拉進表世界的。同理：艾麗絲感受到露絲的到來（與她的女兒一起），所以防出能量把她們拉了進來，因為這種能量是區域性的，所以那個女警也被拉了進來。。。。也就是說表世界來回就這么幾個人（後面還被艾麗絲趕盡殺絕了=。=）而已。。。。。。轉回話題：她們回到了家裡，其實那也只是空無一人的表世界之家罷了。為什麼會有這種結局呢？其實這都是艾麗絲的意願罷了。。。。。前面說過，露絲在孤兒院收養的女兒莎仁其實是艾麗絲的善良一面的誕生體，而結尾時露絲讓女兒閉上眼睛，但她還是睜開了，也就這一刻，她與黑暗體對視力的這一刻，善良體（莎仁）與黑暗體結合了，重新成為了艾麗絲。。。這也是為什麼後面黑暗體和艾麗絲都未出現的原因了。。。。而艾麗絲覺得她的母親達琳當年並沒有完全盡了母親的職責、自己也沒有得到過真正的母愛，而相較之下，露絲的強大的母愛更讓艾麗絲欣賞，所以後來莎仁的表情和行為都有些怪，這才是真正的艾麗絲。。。。她為了獨享母愛就把表世界延伸了出去，直到家中~這一切就是結局形成的原因。。。。。。。。。但仍然有比較激進的人懶得聽這些所謂的「胡扯」，只問一句話：到底死沒死呀？？？要問這個問題的話，只能說明你層次太低了，但你非要得到個答案的話，我只能說：即沒有死，也不能說是活著的。。。。（1）要說她死了，在真實世界卻沒有她的屍體，而她也確實在表世界活著的。（2）要說她活著，她也永遠回不到真實世界（除非艾麗絲願意這樣做）。（3）她在教堂里被那個可惡的女教主一刀桶穿了左鎖骨處（離心臟比較近，看她的出血情況應該是桶到了大動脈），而因為艾麗絲的力量又活了過來，從這一點說，她的命其實已經是艾麗絲的了~
【1號補充】廁所里的怪物
有人不明白女主角在學校廁所裡面看到的那個所謂的"獻祭者"是什麼意思...其實,他就是那個在後面艾麗絲回憶中被眾多學生追趕到廁所後,廁所中那個把她弓雖女幹了的清潔工(=.=在門口有N多學生的情況下)...所以艾麗絲對他的怨恨由為突出,在她擁有了力量(黑暗搭檔)之後,第一個就把他給殘忍地殺掉了,就在那個回憶中的那個廁所里.....而在表世界中他屍體所擺的姿勢也比較像在XX..里世界裡,他行進(爬行..)中在不停的"吐舌頭",這一點更好理解,因為這是標準的"性暗示"動作(在學術中和各種H中都得到公認的)~至於實在這方面不懂的,只能說明你太純潔了,就不支持你進行深挖了..
還有的人問:女主角怎麼知道他嘴裡面有那塊刻著"酒店"(本人不怎麼會英文,就直接翻譯了哦~)的石頭呢?本人覺得:(1)那個藍衣服的小孩(其實是艾麗絲所釋放的幻影,用來給女主角提供線索的,所以忽隱忽現的,是艾麗絲小時侯的形象)把她指引到這來,肯定有原因,所以女主角要查看一下(2)可能是後面的話有什麼暗示(再次重聲:英語不太好..) (3)游戲中的人物也都喜歡沒事亂翻的,說不定有什麼好東東等我呢~不過要去翻死人嘴裡嘛,那就......=.=

對,這確實是露絲的選擇,她在教堂里曾經對那個女警說:"當我第一眼看到莎仁(善良體)的時候,我就喜歡上了她."...露絲選擇了莎仁,也就等同於選擇了自己的命運,因為莎認總會有這么一天要回到SILENT HILL,這是無法阻止和更改的~是露絲自己選擇的命運.....

再次重聲:寂靜嶺是一個很有人文內涵的有血有肉的地方,並非一般歐美的暴力美學....它的每一個設置.每一個細節.都不是憑空而出(大部分其他的血腥恐怖片都是這樣),而是有其道理的.....在此引用一位哲學家的話:"凡是存在的都是有道理的."----黑格爾
三角頭:寂靜嶺游戲中被公認的最具代表性怪物.肌肉身材,手拿大刀,三角鐵頭(有槍也沒法打暴頭了..)~這個形象就已經代表了艾麗絲心中最陰暗\冷酷\暴力和極度的怨恨的一面.....而它那最富個性的三角頭卻不能被眾人所理解,所以我來簡單解釋一下:(1)學過心理學的人應該知道,三角形代表著暴力(或暴力傾向),而又把三角形作為它的頭就說明了這個怪物的頭腦中是充滿了暴力\別無他物...(2)三角頭又代表了神秘(如金字塔等),在游戲中也確實這樣.每次它的出現就會暗示些東西或者代表著某段劇情的高潮的到來....所以它的出現總是背負著很多"重大"任務的~
護士怪:艾麗絲燒傷後,"她極度的恐懼漸漸轉變為巨大的怨恨."(引用電影中的一段話)所以她燒傷後對所有的一切都充滿了敵意,而此時可憐的護士是離她最近的人,所以護士的形象也自然而然的出現為可怖的形態(也就是怪物)...具體可以參考電影中LISA(那個紅衣護士)"白眼"成因~
聖甲蟲:這個嘛...不太好說,不過我覺得應該是艾麗絲燒傷後在不能動彈的情況下,被某種甲蟲所咬傷,所以也被物質化(依附寂靜嶺或者說是黑暗體的力量把某種意念中或潛意識中的東西具體化,成為可見體)了~

有的人提問:為什麼艾麗絲的黑暗力量(里世界)波及不到教堂內呢?
這個問題嘛~我自己也想了一段時間~如果游戲中這么問還好回答些,因為其中的大部分疑問已得到解答(有SH3的功勞)~而在宗教這方面,電影已經把游戲中的原本改得面目全非了,所以只能從新推理~
(本推理純屬個人推理,如有雷同實屬→抄襲)
(1)屋外就是里世界,而屋內卻一點也不受影響,而且在教主(不是里教主...)的帶領下進行祈禱後就恢復了表世界,可能這種邪教確實有某種力量在保護著(個人覺得這種可能不太大)~(2)根據信仰的力量(並非專指這種邪教)一說,與寂靜嶺心魔論~因為眾信徒虔誠地堅貞地信任著這種邪教的力量能夠保護他們,而且這種信仰的中心點就在教堂內,所以堅定的信仰動搖了里世界的力量,而虔誠的禱告便暫時性的驅逐了里世界~...這種觀點的可能性比較大,也很符合游戲中的觀點~(3)因為電影中表裡世界都是艾麗絲所創造的~所以教堂這個僻護點艾麗絲也應該是可以控制的(就類似於她可以控制里世界不傷害達琳一樣),而一次性把這些仇人殺掉的話,艾麗絲還覺得有點不爽(BT了=.=...).所以搞出這么個地方來慢慢玩弄這些人,讓他們天天陷入死亡的巨大恐懼中,讓他們身心具疲,心理崩潰(不過因為有信仰,才沒有太快崩潰)...這樣會讓艾麗絲得到更大的"滿足"~
幾次分析中,惟有這次的個人觀點比較濃重,所以錯誤可能存在,若有意見,敬請提出~~有三個可能也是因為這個問題上面還未定性,不過定性後也不會超出這個范圍的吧?~呵呵!
【5號補充】邪教教主--克雷絲
這個人物嘛~個人覺得沒什麼好說的,因為這是電影改編後新加上的.所以就完全沒有游戲中那個教主達麗娜(艾麗絲的母親)那麼神秘,擁有強大的力量(游戲中表世界是教主製造的,里世界才是艾麗絲創造用來躲避母親)~所以這么說來,電影把宗教這方面就不止是"一筆帶過"了..而是大幅度削弱了~由主動轉變為被動了~
而這個教主本人呢,可以這么說吧~是一點能力也沒有滴,他只能像我們國內滴一位著名邪教教主李某人(簡稱李教主~...=.=?里教主?...)一樣,搞些神神秘秘的東西來迷惑眾人....根據我4號補充"宗教力量的"第(2)種說法,她的所有能力也就是聚攏人心罷了~並無真正實力...
正像露絲大聲對克雷絲說的那樣:"你只是把所有你所害怕的人都燒死而已."

盡管《寂靜嶺》獲得了巨大的成功，但是仍有對其批評的聲音。例如就有新聞認為《寂靜嶺》是一部「惡評如潮」但卻票房高的影片（聽起來怎麼像在評價某些中國「大片」？），還有影評人稱「看不懂」《寂靜嶺》，更有人想像力頗為豐富地將《寂靜嶺》與《無極》相比並認為其是一路貨色。其實在文化全球化和後現代的今天，出現讓每個人都拍手叫好的電影幾乎是不可能的，何況還有那麼多別有用心嘩眾取寵的人和不明就裡盲從潮流的大眾。《生化危機》和《古墓麗影》僅就電影本身來說，我個人認為並非「爛片」。而之所以它們被大加誅伐，就是因為與原游戲脫節嚴重，批評它們的人也多以游戲玩家為主。《寂靜嶺》之所以被玩家看好，就是因為它很真實地還原了同名游戲中推理解謎的特點和血腥、骯臟、恐怖、壓抑的環境氣氛。何況無論是電影還是游戲，《寂靜嶺》都絕對不是一個簡單的、為渲染恐怖而生的「鬼域」或「血腥美學」，它是一個充滿深刻人文內涵的地方，包括宗教、道德、哲學、性等多種元素和象徵、隱喻、暗示等多種手法。因而對於沒有玩過《寂靜嶺》這部系列游戲（截止拍電影時已有四部《寂靜嶺》游戲，現已出第五部）的人或者對這些不了解的人來說，「看不懂」實屬正常。
既然有人說「有一千個觀眾就有一千個哈姆雷特，所以有一千個觀眾就有一千個寂靜嶺」，那麼現在就讓我們回到寂靜嶺：
寂靜嶺的世界觀：「三元論」、「二元論」與「二元主義」
看過《寂靜嶺》的人可能都應該感受到電影中不止存在著一個空間。對於寂靜嶺究竟有幾個空間的問題，普遍存在「已死論」、「二元論」和「三元論」三種觀點。持「已死論」（也就是認為寂靜嶺就是「陰間」，進入寂靜嶺中的人實際已在片頭車禍中死亡）的觀眾可能是「沒看懂」電影或者受到一句被錯誤翻譯的台詞字幕——「你們都已經死了」（實際應為「你們都已經被詛咒了」）的誤導。「三元論」則是廣受支持的一種觀點，更有文章用「黃澄澄」、「灰濛蒙」、「黑漆漆」三個詞簡明而傳神地概括了寂靜嶺的三個世界。但是我認為，雖然寂靜嶺存在三個世界，但是「三元論」這個說法卻是不準確的。
首先可以區分一下寂靜嶺的三個世界都是什麼：
1.真實世界：就是真實的世界，在這個世界中的寂靜嶺就是一個被廢棄的小鎮，即「黃澄澄」的世界，這是由於電影中多數表現真實的白天都採用了一種溫暖陽光的色調。
2.「表世界」：即「灰濛蒙」的世界，就是女主人公羅絲（Rose）在車禍醒來後發現自己身處的世界，彷彿冬天的樣子，實際上是由惡魔化之後的阿萊莎（Alessa)用邪惡的力量營造的世界，將一切「罪有應得」的人困在了裡面。
3.「里世界」：即「黑漆漆」的世界，就是表世界響過警報之後不定期轉化後的世界，一派血腥、骯臟的景象並有各種怪物出沒，實際是阿萊莎內心痛苦和壓抑的反映並由其邪惡的力量和仇恨的情緒控制。表世界和里世界都是從《寂靜嶺》游戲中借鑒來的概念。
存在三個世界這一點似乎沒有問題了。但經過分析之後，我們會發現，如果從「次元對立」的角度看，那麼只有兩個對立的空間。在這之前，要看一個概念：二元主義。
「二元主義」（Dualism)在哲學中作為一種思想通常指承認兩種根本的，不可再分且互異的元素，它們彼此沖突或者相互補充，又分為將這兩種基本要素應用於認識活動中的「認識論意義上的二元主義」和用於解釋一切廣義上的客觀現象的「形而上學意義上的二元主義」。「二元主義」本身也是西方歷史文化自我否定式的發展規律自近代以來的產物，是對中世紀基督教唯靈主義的否定。
寂靜嶺的世界本身就存在表裡世界的二元對立，這樣以來加上真實世界，似乎「三元論」是成立了。但是對立的表裡世界二者卻不能同時與真實世界構成對立。因為寂靜嶺的世界要麼是表世界要麼是里世界，二者相互轉化不能並存，所以導致要麼是真實世界與表世界共同存在且對立，要麼是真實世界與里世界共同存在且對立，無法存在真實世界、表世界、里世界同時存在並且對立的情況。需要說明的是，在里世界中的教堂只是由於信仰的原因使怪物無法進入而已，它並不具備表世界的特徵，因而不是表世界，只能算表世界中的一個特殊地點；而阿萊莎所在醫院的地下室也只是表世界裡的一個特殊地點而已，還不能因為醫院地下室有怪物和黑漆一片就認為那是表世界，因為表世界也有怪物，而地下室沒有光自然是一片黑；而游戲《寂靜嶺》中表裡世界的創造、形成原因與電影中不同，也不能作為解釋電影《寂靜嶺》的依據。所以可以得出結論，寂靜嶺確實存在三個世界，但是從「對立」的角度看，只有二元對立。因而《寂靜嶺》中的世界觀是存在三個世界的「二元論」，或者也可以認為實際只存在兩個世界：真實的世界和變化著的寂靜嶺的世界。作為西方帶有宗教題材的恐怖片，《寂靜嶺》也沒有脫離二元主義的規律。
其實片中的這種二元對立在電影一開始就已經暗示了，那就是羅絲的女兒莎仁（Sharon)夢游時險些摔下懸崖的鏡頭，構成了上下的對立，水上和水下的對立，真實世界與虛幻世界的對立，善良的莎仁與阿萊莎的邪惡面的對立，甚至原來是水下世界卻存在幻境中的烈火這樣水與火的對立。當阿萊莎的邪惡面從懸崖上高速下墜的鏡頭出現時，我承認確實被嚇到了，雖然據說這個停留的鏡頭只持續了0.7秒，但是那恐怖的笑容著實讓人一震，真很難想像到可愛的阿萊莎的形象與這個恐怖的邪惡的阿萊莎是同一個小演員出演的！實在不得不佩服她的演技！

In her desperation, Dahlia agrees to Christabella's suggestions that she allow them to 'restore the innocence' in her daughter. The cult gathers at Silent Hill's Grand Hotel for this purpose. When not allowed to follow her daughter into the ritual, Dahlia guesses at the cult's ill intentions and runs for the police.In the meantime, Alessa is subjected to a hideous ritual burning: the conditions of her birth are seen by the cult as marks of sin, for which they must burn her or face the Apocalypse. However, in the midst of the ritual, the cage by which she is suspended directly above the red hot coals swings, mping the coal and setting fire to the hotel, then the city. When Dahlia returns to the still smoldering hotel with the police, Alessa is burnt beyond recognition but still alive. Notably, Alessa's rescue is performed by Officer Gucci (whose burns are revealed to have been caused by grabbing the still hot iron cage in an effort to open it).Rose is also told that Sharon is a manifestation of Alessa's remaining innocence and goodness, sent away to the orphanage, where she was subsequently adopted by Rose and Christopher. After the flashback, Rose is told that she must aid Alessa in her revenge by granting her entry to the church (which she cannot enter e to the 'blind faith' within it): she is also told that Christabella will soon find Sharon and attempt to burn her as well. Rose agrees to help Alessa get her revenge.Rose re-enters the church soon after Cybil is burned to death by the townspeople, and Sharon is about to suffer a similar fate. She confronts the townspeople and Christabella with what she knows, attempting to convince the cult that they are in denial of their own fate. Angered at what she believes to be heresy, Christabella stabs Rose. Rose's blood drips onto the church floor, opening the way for Alessa. The alt Alessa and her doppelganger rise out of the pit, and proceed to kill Christabella and the townspeople with huge tangles of barbed wire, leaving Dahlia the sole inhabitant of Silent Hill. As the carnage ensues, Rose rescues Sharon and protects her. Sharon looks up to see Alessa's dark double looking down on her. Before Rose and Sharon leave, Dahlia asks why Alessa did not kill her, too. Rose replies with the words that Cybil had told her in the church: "Mother is God in the eyes of a child". Rose and Sharon leave Silent Hill and return home. Nevertheless, although Rose and Sharon are in the same room as Christopher, they cannot see each other and this is because of general agreement that Rose, Sharon and Cybil died in the Car/Motorcycle accident at the start of the film, prior to their entrance of Silent Hill. This is much like the first Silent Hill game where one of the endings shows the protagonist Harry Mason dead, in the car he crashed prior to entering Silent Hill. In my opinion, Silent Hill is the first game-to-movie that is actually good. Not mediocre (like Resident Evil), not barely decent (like Tomb Raider), but a really good one. While not especially "scary", it keeps the dark atmosphere of the games, with all the psychological and emotional aspects.
Changes to the original plot are noticeable, but the new story behind the town and what happened to it is as good (or maybe even better) as the one told in the first game (which the movie is heavily based on). What's important, it still poses some questions, like all the games - touching the subjects of faith, devotion and dedication to family. There's no character that could be unanimously called "evil" e to his or her deeds and motivation - whether driven by faith in a misunderstood cause or the desire of "righteous" revenge, nobody in the movie comes out as saint or as the evil incarnate.
Visually, the movie is true to the original. The CGI effects blatantly stick out in some moments, but I'm still impressed by the quality of "monsters" - played by dancers and gymnasts. Their make-up may fondly remind you of what you saw in the games, but luckily, the "survival horror" moments are rare enough not to tire the viewers with constant barrage of bullets and repeated whacks of metal pipes (only one typical pistol clip worth of bullets is spent ring the whole movie).
Go see it. Or own a DVD. This movie is great even if you didn't play any of the games.
