The Pursuit of Happiness
When it comes to the movie, the Pursuit of Happiness,a lot of scattered fragments of it flash in my mind again and again. The movie is so splendid that it impressed me a lot,and there』s also much food for thought in it.It is not only the most touching movie I』ve ever watched, but also the most inspirational story I』ve ever heard. From it,I become to know a little bit of the philosophy of life, that is,」You got a dream, you gotta protect it」,」Don』t let somebody tell you you can』t do something」which is a great father to his son's care and ecation and also part of my favoutite in the muvie…
Another part we cannot neglect is the excellent job done by the hero ,Will Smith. He is really attractive and has a wide range of expression. He acted as a good father but not a successful salesman, called Chris Gardner,in the muvie. He has the force of iron will and he is so optimistic, that he never give up and strongly believed happiness would come one day if he kept working hard. For his son,and also for his own belief,he struggled against all kinds of difficulties, and finally achieved the happiness.
What』s more, the story is told to us very clearly,Life of Chris Gardner is divided into six parts:Riding the bus,Being stupid,Running,Internship,Paying taxes and Happiness,And the plot starts from the bottom and goes towards the climax step by step.Consequently,we can understand the muvie better and learn more from it.
Thanks to the Pursuit of Happiness,I did acquired a lot from it.Chris Gardner, just an ordinary man ,with such heavy life pressure, can achieve his goal with his amazing willpower.I even can』t believe it before watching the film. For us,the generation born with happiness, have much better life than him.Why are we always in bad mood because of a mere trifle? Why don』t we have a optimistic attitude and a strong will like Chris Gardner? We should take careful thought about it…

"The Pursuit of Happyness" is a simple inspirational movie. It is not pretty actors, no fancy pictures, no touching music, but can also attract you read on law-abiding, because it has good enough story, plain but not mediocre!
Two of the film places the novel, though intentionally set, but that is not offensive, not far-fetched, pregnant with meaning.
First: When Chris (Will Smith plays) to see graffiti in the "happyness" spelling error, he said these words: There is no y in happiness, There is i. (y or Why). This line is extremely clever setting, it also aims to express through the entire film. Yes, there is no happiness in the why, the only others only their own happiness. Why blame others than their own happiness is meaningless, only rely on their own can be happy.
Second: when the movie started, Chris was in the crowd jammed the streets to push forward, in the smiling faces in only his bewildered, stood helpless with. And towards the end of the film, Chris was in the same place, look left to meet the emotional tears and applause for his rallying. In the calendar through suffering, sorrow, abandonment, abjection, helplessness, despair, after Chris with patience, hard work and attitude of never giving up in exchange for part of his life, the good old days. So in the moment through the probationary period, Chris is happy.

There is no y in happiness, There is i.(y即Why)。
I was blessed to have seen this movie last night. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me love life.
This movie is a great movie that depicts a love of a father for his son. Will Smith did an incredible job and deserves every accolade available to him. His son also did a fantastic job.
There is a great lesson that is learned in this movie and it truly shares the struggles of everyday life.
This movie was heart felt and touching. It was truly an experience worth having. Thank you for making this movie and I look forward to seeing it again.
---------------
My husband and I had an opportunity to attend a screener of this movie last night. We had seen several commercials and a trailer for the film and we had high hopes, we were not disappointed. Many times "inspired by" films feel like hard sells or bids for Oscar glory. "Pursuit of Happiness" is none of that. This is an honest, meaningful film that will stay with you long after you leave the theatre. The viewer becomes fully invested in the struggles of Chris Gardner and his son. Will and Jadyn Smith deserve huge kudos. The real-life father and son dynamic enriched the film and don't know if other actors could have been as powerful. Be warned, there are several tissue incing moments. This movie is well worth a ticket!
------------
This is one of the best films of this year. For a year that was fueled by controversy and crap, it was nice to finally see a film that had a true heart to it. From the opening scene to the end, I was so moved by the love that Will Smith has for his son. Basically, if you see this movie and walk out of it feeling nothing, there is something that is very wrong with you. Loved this movie, it's the perfect movie to end the year with. The best part was after the movie, my friends and I all got up and realized that this movie had actually made the four of us tear up! It's an amazing film and if Will Smith doesn't get at least an Oscar Nom, then the Oscars will just suck. In fact Will Smith should actually just win an Oscar for this role.!!! I loved this movie!!!! Everybody needs to see especially the people in this world that take everything for granted, watch this movie, it will change you!

Will Smith plays Chris Gardner, a struggling sales man that is doing everything he can to keep his act together, however, lately he makes little to no money and the bills keep piling up.His wife, tired of the situation leaves him and goes to New York to work in a restaurant.Subsequently everything that could go wrong does go wrong and Chris and his young son end up homeless. Now his only hope is to succeed at a stockbroker internship at Dean Witter and be chosen to work there which would turn his life around...Based on a true story, The Pursuit of Hapyness has all the right ingredients, plus Will Smith's performance is not only perfect but probably the best of his career. He may not choose his films very wisely but the man can definitely act,for instance, there's a very emotional scene towards the end of the movie,it lasts less then a minute but it is some of the finest acting I've seen lately. The on-screen chemistry between Will Smith and Jayden Smith is great and makes the viewer really care and root for the characters.Overall its a great story of hope, of working hard to achieve things,of not giving up... I dare you to watch this movie and not feel like you can do more in your life, that you can and should go after your dreams and not settle for anything less.

How did I get that the real Chris Gardner was materialistic from seeing this film? I didn't. I actually read an interview he did and took a look at the website that demystifies movies that were based upon true stories (chasingthefrog). I just happened upon that website because I was looking up the real facts on American Gangster.
Now I'm not discounting the fact that this was a very good movie with a touching story of a guy down on his luck who finally accomplished his dream. But if you read about the true story, and then watch the movie, you don't even shed a single tear in all the tearjerker places. Why?
In real life, Chris was paid $1,000 per month ring his internship at DW (which was a lot of money in 1980), but the movie portrays the truth to be that it is an unpaid job. So how was he irresponsible? The real Chris used drugs with Linda (Thandie Newton's character, Jackie in the book) = wasted money. And he was too stupid to stop illegally parking = wasted money. Jackie was his mistress (his wife is not mentioned in the film) and his son (and daughter who was also not in the film) were born from his affair with Jackie, and also unplanned = stupid to have two unplanned children when you have no money and use drugs.
How was he materialistic? The part in the movie where he sees the Ferrari and asks the guy what type of work he did in order to buy the car really happened in real life. He then, as in the movie, shapes his whole life around how to make the same type of money by doing the job the guy in the Ferrari did. I make good money in my profession, but I didn't get into it solely for the money, I did it because I got excellent grades in the same subject in high school and felt it was the most natural choice for me as I really enjoyed it. I obviously agree that salary should play a great part in your selection of a career, but to allow your son (in real life he was a 2 year old, not 5 as in the movie) to go from homeless shelter to homeless shelter and sleep in a subway bathroom just so you can get a really good paying job in SIX months is just not right (granted, he didn't have his son for the entire 6 months in real life). He could have lived within his means or gotten a steady paying job in retail, in sales, in anything, to save up, and then attend the DW internship the following year. And the movie made the internship appear to be more competitive, in real life, DW hired most of those who passed the exam and had decent sales, not just one person out of 20.
And his overnight stint in jail in real life was not for unpaid parking tickets (though he really had tons of unpaid tickets) he was picked up for hitting Jackie. Hollywood really blurred the truth on this one... Knowing all this before seeing the movie makes his struggles seem self inflicted, which they were. Sure everything worked out well and he became a millionaire, and then they made a movie about it and he made more millions. So he's doing really well, but I don't think he's someone anyone should look up to or strive to be like. hmmm.... I'll cheat on my wife, do cocaine with my girlfriend, get her knocked up twice, and raise my kid in a shelter while I take six months at an internship that pays me $1K to live on and yet that's not enough for me.
Really poor judgment and choices that ended up working out to his benefit. His pursuit of happiness was simply his pursuit of money so he could buy that Ferrari he saw, and yes, in real life he bought two.
