到哈佛大學法律系留學的賢宇(金來沅)，在飛往美國的飛機上認識了珍雅(金玟)。到達美國之後的第一個晚上在酒店裡又偶遇秀茵(金泰熙)，並誤把她當作妓女。賢宇找到了未婚妻韓瑟琪(鄭率姬)的叔叔，哈佛法律系的教授吳永載(姜南吉)，拜託他關照自己。在全體室友的聚會上又遇到了正民，並受到挑釁。然後是新生見面會，他再一次遇到了之前遇到的一些人，包括，秀茵、正民和珍雅，還有一位著名的律師詹姆斯。後者在派對上暈倒，受到秀茵的救治。
秀茵在一家又小又破的餐館里找到了操勞幹活的父親。由於，沒有地方休息，她只得來到圖書館，又遇到了一直誤會她為妓女的賢宇，二人鬧得很不愉快。第二天，賢宇被告之，沒有資格上凱因斯教授的課，在走投無路的情況下得到了瑟琪的幫助，為他請了補習老師。沒想到補習老師竟然是秀茵。這著實使他大吃一驚，在秀茵的解釋下，兩人之間誤會消除。在得知秀茵在繁忙的學習之餘，既要打工賺錢還要擔任艾滋病的志願者的事實後，不得不佩服她的能力。在秀茵的幫助下，通過自己的努力爭取，賢宇終於獲得了在凱因斯教授課堂上聽課的資格。
