——THE TRANSFORMERS 第1-65集
說明：一共65集動畫，日本版本計算不包括總結篇劇情集數，美國版本將其又劃分為第一季16集（SEASON 1）和第二季49集（SEASON 2）。國內引進了該系列的美版動畫 四百萬年前，汽車人和霸天虎在塞伯坦的戰爭已經持續了很久，星球資源已經枯竭，汽車人在擎天柱（港譯：柯柏文）的帶領下登上巨型戰艦方舟號前往宇宙搜尋新能量，霸天虎首領威震天（港譯：麥加登）率領部下乘報應號戰艦追擊。雙方在古老的地球上空交戰，霸天虎登陸了方舟，與汽車人在戰艦上搏鬥。飛船失去控制，墜毀地球，所有變形金剛終止了活動。

變形金剛的製造者五面怪出現，陰謀重新奪回塞伯坦。驚破天復活，率領霸天虎繼續在宇宙中橫行，汽車人在補天士的帶領下英勇抵抗，並粉碎了五面怪的陰謀，通過對能源寶的探索，補天士查明了變形金剛的來歷——最早是由五面怪創造出來的奴隸機械人，後推翻五面怪，並將其趕出塞伯坦。宇宙中出現致命病毒，幾乎感染了所有的生物。補天士下令全力復活擎天柱，五面怪與汽車人聯手修復了擎天柱，擎天柱復活並聯合驚破天，在最後的時刻用能源寶的力量消滅了病毒。驚破天向汽車人提出休戰。

驚破天糾合新力軍進攻塞伯坦，熱破與部分變形金剛流落到頭領行星。兩派分別與當地居民結合，新生的頭領戰士和目標戰士加入戰斗。驚破天與ZARAK合作，啟動了巨型基地——撒克巨人，隨後巨無霸基地在人類斯派克（港譯：史碧加）指揮下也趕赴戰場，霸天虎和撒克巨人戰敗逃往宇宙深處……
