根據瑪雅文明記載，人類的歷史將定格於公元2012年；無獨有偶，唐朝的《推背圖》似乎也預言到公元2012年世界可能發生巨變。且不管有沒有巨變，咱先默認一定會發生——在此基礎上，從《獨立日》、《哥斯拉》、《後天》的羅蘭德·艾默里奇導演的角度出發，那一定是場曠世浩劫啊……其實根據前述三部的演變過程，也不難看出艾默里奇的地球的危機觀已從外太空入侵、核變異威脅，轉變為因生態環境破壞而造成的自然災害。

1.洛杉磯城覆滅的部分，約翰·庫薩克扮演的男主角傑克開車載著一家人朝機場逃亡的片段，公路在下沉、起伏，高架崩塌，別墅變平地，高樓傾覆，尤其是加長林肯穿過最後一棟大樓那部分，看著那慢慢變形的柱子，好萊塢的電腦特技真是太棒了！一家人在小飛機上真是經歷了千難萬險，到處都是飛舞的汽車，正在倒塌的高樓，以及沖下來的那列火車！太驚心動魄了！脫險後主演們遙望覆滅的洛杉磯，偌大的城市瞬間變為碎片一點一點的沉入大海。
2.接著是主演們到黃石公園找那個瘋狂的傢伙拿地圖那段，兩人站在山上，黃石的一部分平地忽然隆起，接著塌陷，45度慢旋轉鏡頭中黃石各處噴火，樣子比《活火溶城》壯觀的多，整個黃石火山爆發，如同氫彈爆炸，崩起來的石塊等物質就像集束炸彈一樣落在主演逃亡的車周圍，慶幸的是一家人平安的離開了，飛機脫險的鏡頭完全就是《獨立日》的，哈！羅蘭真會拿自己的片子.......
3.那位有錢的俄國人看著那架暴大的運輸機說,俄國人造的.....朝中國飛的路上，經過夏威夷，本想下去加油....可惜整個夏威夷不存在了，全部都是火海。還有滿滿一飛機的好車，藍博、保時捷等等，而且還給賓利做了個超牛的廣告！飛機迫降在喜馬拉雅山上那段也很驚險！
4.里約熱內盧的全球最大的耶穌像崩塌、梵蒂岡的最高建築滾向那些信徒，這個時候我也會問一句，上帝在哪呢？那艘漂亮的巨型游輪，在海嘯上完全橫了過去，傾覆，比《海神號》速度還快，當然海嘯高度有點誇張了。美國最引以為傲的航空母艦終究還是砸向了白宮和自己的總統。
5.最後就出關於諾亞方舟的部分了，也是片子最高潮的部分，「當看到海嘯漫過喜馬拉雅山頂時，你會不自覺的思索，在生命的最後關頭該怎麼辦？什麼是重要的？什麼是次要的？誰對你更重要？你要在生命餘下不多的時間里做些什麼？引用「約翰·庫薩克」的話。
片中的感人鏡頭和美式幽默鏡頭很多，那些家人的最後通話，來得及的來不及的。最主要的發生在諾亞方舟基地的感人片段，我就不寫過多了，簡單提幾個，黑人科學家的演說要求放人進方舟，闊氣的俄國老拼盡全力把兒子送了上去自己卻...傑克捨身回頭，還有他那勇敢的兒子！不得不叫人佩服！。
再一次見識到西方人眼中動物和人的地位一樣，的確。
影片結束以後我也問自己，在災難面前，可以做到無私么？幾億人瞬間失去生命，那句該死的沒死不該死的活著在這時候還重要麼？誰不為那位美國黑人總統（影星丹尼·格洛弗）的壯舉感動？
盡管這只是電影，在N年裡不會發生，但是還是告訴我們一些道理。就像《後天》的中心思想，如果我們不愛護這顆唯一的地球，災難真的是會發生的，那個時候就不會像電影里一樣會有完美的結局。
