從內地角度來說，電影名的翻譯做的還是比較不錯的，講究直譯和意譯相結合，是觀影者能從電影名稱就知道這部電影具體要講什麼，符合大部分人的文化習慣。可能大部分動畫電影會被冠以「XX總動員」的名稱而略顯乏味，但還是符合電影劇情的。但相對的，台灣和香港地區因為各自區域的特殊性，語言文化不僅具有原住民語言特色還摻雜了其他文化的特點，對內地人來說，電影的譯名可能就顯得比較奇葩了。比如下面的這幾部。

去年大熱的電影《瘋狂動物城》，英文名稱zootopia，才用zoo+utopia相結合的方式，直譯「動物烏托邦」，但這樣的話看起來是一個非常沉重的名字，與動畫本身詼諧幽默的劇情不相符，內地譯名「瘋狂動物城」就比較好了。但反過來，香港譯名「優獸大都會」，台灣譯名「動物方城市」，兩個名稱直接亮瞎了我的眼，優獸是什麼東西？動物方城市，動物方面的城市？這也太直白了吧。說實話要是我一看這名字，看都不會去看電影。

The title of films has become a trademark with strong commercial advertising functions, an icing on the cake. It is a first impression of the film presented to the public, and it features very prominently in both the promotional advertisements and posters.

（3）目前，西片譯名的最突出的問題是直譯和意譯的把握度問題。同一影片有多種譯名的現象屢見不鮮，然而同一部電影的不同電影名給人的感覺也不同。電影名直譯不夠或者意譯都會使電影名翻譯成為「亂譯」。

有些中文的意境是英文翻譯不出來的。
比如有些古典的小說啊，詩詞啊，外文卻翻譯的很直白，意境都沒有了。
這是要從小在中國文化的熏陶下才能形成的，老外不是說明白就明白的。

而外國的文化有些也是中國人不能理解的。說道電影，好像有個電影叫白雪公主中國人就翻譯成一個女人和七個男人的故事。尤其是大陸和港台，翻譯的版本都不一樣，很多都胡亂翻譯，還有的故意把名字翻譯的很色情以此靠名字色情賺上座率。

反正文化差異是很大的，交流融匯是可以的，但是不可能真正的體會到原汁原味的東西。

很簡單，中國人只接受能看出影片內容、基調的片名。

我感覺這種翻譯慣例並不止是外譯中，中譯英也存在。比如《我的父親母親》翻譯成The Road Home；《金陵十三釵》翻譯成Roses of War，都是為不熟悉影片基調的外國人補足了場景。《霸王別姬》本來取自民間傳說故事，英譯Farewell my Concubine使用了第一人稱，補足了故事悲傷的感情基調。

⑨ 關於英語電影片名的翻譯問題

理論的話，現在比較統一的是目的論（Skopos Theory 或 Skopstheorie）。目的論主要包含四個基本規則The Skopos rule， The Coherence rule， The Fidelity rule， 以及The Loyalty principle。 結合電影片名的英譯來講，就是將電影固有英文片名以及電影內容相結合來進行翻譯，也可以看作是直譯和意譯的結合。其中主要運用的翻譯方式是歸化和異化，英文就是Domestication and foreignization。
最後補充一點，畢竟理論是通過實踐總結出來的，所以也不好說現在片名的翻譯有什麼通用理論，只能說根據翻譯成品，翻譯過程等等來講，大部分片名翻譯與某個理論相符合。
