影片描述

根據真實故事改編，一部關於戰爭、金錢和個人良知的動作大片。主人公自欺欺人的相信：軍火和其他商品沒有什麼區別，而忽略了軍火背後戰爭的原罪性，因而最終家破人亡，備受良心的折磨。

主人公尤瑞在少年時跟隨家人從歐洲移居美國。18歲那年，他加入聯合國維和部隊，作為一名翻譯被派往非洲。由於厭惡戰爭，他對自己所從事的工作毫無興趣。一個偶然的機會，他把槍支轉手倒賣給民間武裝軍隊。並在此期間，遇到了一見鍾情的女人—埃娃。回到美國後，尤瑞勸說弟弟維塔利加入了他的軍火生意，兩人開始靠倒賣地下軍火賺錢。但是兩大威脅像幽靈一樣困擾著尤瑞：他生意上的死對頭和傑克—一個對他緊追不放的國際警察。維塔利染上了毒癮。每每看到弟弟毒癮發作的樣子，尤瑞十分痛心，但是卻無能為力。

尤瑞對埃娃一直念念不忘，設法與其見面，並成功地使埃娃愛上了他。尤瑞告訴埃娃，他在從事國際運輸的大生意，並且賺了很多錢。兩人結婚，並有了一個孩子。在妻兒面前，尤瑞是個完美的家居男人，一心一意地照顧他們，甚至會把兒子房間里的玩具槍拿走，不讓他接觸到這些暴力的東西。在另一方面，尤瑞的謊言卻很難維持下去，為了賺錢，他回到了烏克蘭，又開始了他的老本行。和他的叔叔多米崔合夥販賣軍火到非洲有戰爭的地區，一夜暴富。

國際警察組織逮捕了尤瑞，但由於證據不足，又很快釋放了他。埃娃開始對他的生意產生了懷疑，並質問他。尤瑞承認了自己是軍火商。為了妻子和這個家，他決心當個做正當生意的商人。在很多嘗試不成功後，本性使他回到了老路上。說服弟弟和他一起去非洲談生意，誰知中途出了亂子，弟弟在他的面前被打死。尤瑞逃過一劫，完成了這筆生意。

弟弟的死對尤瑞觸動很大，他開始思考自己所做的事的意義和正確性。回到美國後，父母不肯原諒他，將其逐出家門。埃娃也帶著孩子離開了他，並向警方告發他的罪行。

在國際警察的安排下，尤瑞開始為美國工作。但是，此時他已孑然一身。

Nicolas Cage (born Nicolas Kim Coppola; January 7, 1964) is an American Academy Award-winning actor, film director, and procer, who currently manages his own proction company, Saturn Films.

Cage was born in Long Beach, California. His father, August Coppola, is a professor of literature, while Cage's mother, Joy Vogelsang, is a dancer and choreographer; the two divorced in 1976. Cage's mother is of German descent and his father is of Italian descent (his paternal great-grandparents were immigrants from Bernalda, Basilicata). His paternal grandparents are Carmine Coppola, a composer, and Italia Pennino, an actress. Through his father, Cage is the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola and actress Talia Shire, as well as the cousin of directors Roman Coppola and Sofia Coppola and actors Robert Carmine and Jason Schwartzman. Cage's two brothers are Christopher Coppola, a director; and Marc "The Cope" Coppola, a New York radio personality. Cage was born into a Roman Catholic household and remains Catholic to this day, although he said in the mid-1990s that he was not religious.

Cage, who attended Beverly Hills High School (the same high school as fellow entertainers Albert Brooks, Angelina Jolie, Lenny Kravitz, Slash, Rob Reiner, Bonnie Franklin and David Schwimmer), aspired to act from an early age. Cage also attended UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television. His first non-cinematic acting experience was in a school proction of Golden Boy. Since his cameo feature film debut in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, with Sean Penn, Cage has appeared in a wide range of films, both mainstream and offbeat. He tried out for the role of Dallas Winston in his uncle's film The Outsiders, based on S.E. Hinton's novel, but lost to Matt Dillon. He was also in Coppola's film Rumble Fish.

Cage has been nominated twice for an Academy Award, and won once, for his performance as a suicidal alcoholic in Leaving Las Vegas. His other nomination was for his portrayal of real-life screenwriter Charlie Kaufman and Kaufman's fictional twin Donald in Adaptation. Despite these successes, most of his lower-profile films have performed poorly at the box office compared to his mainstream action/adventure roles. The suspense thriller 8mm (1999) was not a box office success, but is now considered a cult film. In 2005, two offbeat films he headlined, Lord of War and The Weather Man, failed to find a significant audience despite nationwide releases and good reviews for his acting in those roles. Poor reviews for The Wicker Man resulted in low box office sales. Most of Cage's movies that have achieved financial success were in the action/adventure genre. In his second-highest grossing film to date, National Treasure, he plays an eccentric historian who goes on a dangerous adventure to find treasure hidden by the Founding Fathers of the United States. Other action hits include The Rock, in which Cage plays a young FBI chemical weapons expert who infiltrates Alcatraz Island in hopes of neutralizing a terrorist threat, Face/Off, a John Woo film where he plays both a hero and a villain, and World Trade Center, director Oliver Stone's film regarding the September 11, 2001 attacks. He had a small but notable role as the Chinese criminal mastermind Dr. Fu Manchu in Rob Zombie's fake trailer Werewolf Women of the S.S. from the B-movie double feature Grindhouse.

In recent years, Cage made his directorial debut with Sonny, a low-budget drama starring James Franco as a male prostitute whose mother (Brenda Blethyn) serves as his pimp.[1] Cage had a small role in the grim film, which received poor reviews and a short run in a limited number of theatres. 電影《戰爭之王》真實故事原型是Victor Bout。影片中的尤里奧涅夫的原型就是臭名昭著的軍火販子維克多鮑特，原KGB成員。

Victor Bout曾被稱為「死亡批發商」，他的公司職員超過300人，擁有約40架貨機，他所擁有的「安」式運輸機的數量是世界上最多的。

1992年，25歲的布托得到了第一桶金子。他借了12萬美元買了三架「安」運輸機，開始在莫斯科四處飛行。

1993年，他將業務遷往阿拉伯聯合大公國，在那裡，他在阿拉伯聯合大公國的一個機場租用運輸機，建立了一家進出口公司。

在短期內，布托的公司贏得了一份「正式合同」，為比利時駐索馬里維和部隊提供武器。為了進一步擴大在非洲的存在，布托在賴比瑞亞成立了阿爾薩斯航運公司。

按照「賣錢」的原則，向非洲國家出售自動步槍、步槍手榴彈、機關槍、火箭發射器和其他武器。布托的「觸角」幾乎遍及非洲的每一個角落。
