This is a true story - the real Michael Oher currently plays for the Baltimore Ravens, having been legally adopted by the Touhys (don't expect to hear much from Leigh Anne's hubby, by the way, he's the strong silent type) at high-school age.

要說好萊塢的勵志片也不少，但是大多都是隔靴搔癢的電影。漢考克說：「很多勵志片說的都是墮落的人是怎麼找回自信和生活的，他們的墮落在很大程度上都是自己的咎由自取，並不值得別人的同情。這種大起大落的人生其實並不是什麼值得宣揚的事情。在很大程度上，我甚至覺得這樣的所謂勵志片不過是種粉飾太平的糖衣炮彈，根本沒有觸及問題的真相。」
