the world that not all Germans are like Hitler".He hates that guy and
all he stands for.
The obvious sticking point here is that (spoiler!)
von Stauffenberg did not actually kill Hitler.The plot failed and the
conspirators were executed.Played as a tragedy,or a stark study of
failed ambitions,this might not have been a problem.Except that Singer
opts to frame Valkyrie as a high-concept wartime suspense
thriller,inviting us to suspend our disbelief and go along for the ride.
The
1944 plot was at least fiendishly planned and generally well
executed.Singer's,by contrast,seems flawed and foolhardy from the start.
But
what of Singer's co-conspirator?Valkyrie paints von Stauffenberg as the
archetypal "good German",a model of elegant disenchantment.And yet
Cruise,for all his skills as a performer,does not do disenchantment.For
all the anguished moments of doubt,the constant stares into the
mirror,his von Stauffenberg is essentially Top Gun with an eye-patch.
The
film's curious melange of dialects only underscores this quality.Von
Stauffenberg's cohorts are played by British actors (Bill Nighy,Terence
Stamp,Kenneth Branagh) who deliver their lines in English accents.The
villainous Nazi is portrayed by German actor Thomas Kretschmann who
speaks English in a German accent.And then - standing separate and apart
- is Cruise himself,intoning his lines in pureblood American.He might
as well have been dropped in from an Allied plane; a gung-ho Hollywood
hero sent in to clean up a very European mess.He couldn't manage it as a

This movie really drew me into the main character's world and kept me engaged all the way to the end. The opening is very strong and it's easy to get hooked in right from the start.

The movie is based on real life situations / events of gunrunners. It follows the life of a clever immigrant who realizes two basic needs of people: they need to eat and they need weapons. Regarding the latter, there's not a lot of competition and margins are high.

Nicolas Cage gives a brilliant performance and keeps the viewer interested in the lead character and his world throughout the movie. The supporting characters also deliver excellent, intense performances.

If you see this movie, you'll not only see a good movie, but you'll get an insight into the wold of international arms dealing. This is not a movie that presents material "over the heads" of viewers like some movies that deal in world affairs - it is easily accessible, understandable and enjoyable. Definitely recommended.

Eliza Doolittle is a beautiful young lady. She is a girl with happiness, even the place she live is dirty and crowd, she never let smile slipped out from her face. And she has a dream, a warm house with her lover, and a lot of chocolates to eat. “Wouldn’t it be lovely?”

Hey Higgins, an English Linguistic professor, is a typical English wealthy and defiant bachelor. He regards marriage the most boring and troublesome thing in the world. He is also a precise worker in his work as a language professor.

It is often mistakenly said that they collaborate because Higgins decides to improve Eliza's cockney accent. But in fact it is Eliza who takes the initiative, presenting herself at Hey's bachelor quarters to sign up for lessons: "I know what lessons cost as well as you do, and I'm ready to pay."

The lesson followed is a nightmare to not only Eliza but also Higgins. Higgins take this collaborates as an experiment and always a way to show his ability. He pushes Eliza day and night practicing her pronunciation. As Eliza and Higgins train together, they become accustomed to each other even though it is an abusive relationship on Higgins' part.

This film stays true to the original material, and Higgins doesn't cave in ring a soppy rewritten "happy ending." Astonished that the ungrateful

Eliza has stalked out of his home, Higgins asks, "Why can't a woman be more like a man?" Why can not? He believe man is much more justice faithfulness and tolerate than woman. With his mother’s remindful words, Higgins realizes he loves Eliza, but even in the play's famous last line he perseveres as a defiant bachelor: "Eliza? Where the devil are my slippers?" It remains an open question for us, at the final curtain, whether Eliza stays to listen to what he says next.

This story has no business with romantic in my mind. What it tells me is about change and attitude. Eliza’s father, used to be a man has nothing left to lose, is now tied by morality and status which he never cares about before. The change of his financial affairs leads to the change of his living attitude. Casting back the reason why it happens is just a joke said by Higgins, and that is really a satire, isn’t it?

Generally speaking, although three hours of the time is actually a little bit long, this film is still worth to watch, I highly recommend it.

法國游擊隊員要回法國去，本傑明又用法文祝福「bonne chance」（萬事如意），以示敬意。美國英雄也說法國話？！法國人看了可真是太高興了，因為法語是法國人的驕傲。

這位法國游擊隊戰士也是一位歷史人物的化身。拉斐德（La Fayette）不遠萬里，從法國來到新大陸，幫助美國人民爭取自由。拉斐德追隨華盛頓，一同度過了最艱苦的相持階段。戰爭期間拉斐德返回法國，說服法國國王路易十五，派精兵6千，跨海遠征，幫助剛出生的美利堅合眾國。當然，在此之前，法國人已經在出錢出槍助陣了。

除了《愛國者》之外，影片《U—571》也讓英國人很不開心。《U—571》裡面中美國水兵繳獲了德國人的密碼器。但英國人認為，繳獲密碼器的是英國人，不是美國人。英國人不僅對《愛國者》和《U—571》很有意見，而且覺得《拯救大兵瑞恩》也很有問題。《大兵瑞恩》中根本就沒有提到英國，而當年在諾曼底海灘登陸的，是聯合作戰的美國和英國軍隊。

美國人將英國人的功績統統抹殺。英國人自以為與美國是表親關系，沒想到美國人來了這么一著，沒有比來自朋友和親人的傷害更讓人痛心的了。再說，英國從世界第一強國淪為一個二流國家，一顆心本就已經很脆弱了。美國如今有那麼多可以引以為豪的東西：10艘航空母艦、月球登陸，現在又弄出一個什麼新經濟。既然如此，為什麼不讓讓英國小兄弟呢？
