「畢業生」是一個特殊的群體，在校園里待了十幾年，一朝贏得解放、卷鋪蓋走人，到底是迅速在社會上盡得風流還是深陷泥潭，往往取決於他們所做的一兩件關鍵事。在這種人生重大轉折的背景下，畢業生的奇怪心態也就顯得不那麼奇怪了。不扯遠，單說愛情，剛畢業的學生仔自然而然要面對一堆聲色犬馬的誘惑，以及再也無所顧忌的輕松心態，無論是從情感還是從性上，像本·布拉多克這樣的「愣頭青」自然會蠢蠢欲動、躍躍欲試了，那些學生時代拴住男人臍下三寸的所謂倫理、道德，因為再無規矩和輿論的束縛而顯得形同虛設。羅賓遜夫人的性感軀體其實只是誘因，根本的動力還在於剛從男孩自己的一顆禍心。可是電影畢竟是電影，本偷情的結果與現實中的大多數樣本比起來實屬倒霉透頂，偏偏就偷到了自己喜歡女生的媽媽身上，以至於被「老女人」算計而雞飛蛋打、身敗名裂，唉，男人啊，一旦解開褲帶，等著他們的永遠都是無窮無盡的麻煩。

不過《畢業生》畢竟還是一部好萊塢喜劇，尼科爾斯也沒有興趣嚴肅地討論亂倫+婚外情這種社會問題。所以，我們在影片的尾聲看到了「超現實」也是必然的一幕，執著的本終於打動了深愛的女孩艾琳，從婚禮上把她硬生生撬走，留下的是一群被鎖在教堂的親朋好友，帶走的則是一個在公路上狂奔的落跑新娘。

盡管結局顯得有些矯飾的成分，但仍然不能影響本片在幾十年後仍為人津津樂道。相比之下，自然影片的前半部分更讓人難以忘懷，尤其是羅賓遜夫人用美腿絲襪誘惑小本同學的那一幕，更是成為了影史經典。再加上西蒙&加芬克絕對高附加值的配樂，本片在家庭娛樂市場上一直潛力巨大、廣受追捧的節目。

然而在DVD時代，本片邁向電影收藏者碟架的路卻一點都不順當。先前本人已經撰文介紹過此片DVD的發行狀況，總的來說，就是二區強於一區，不僅是因為一區的正片視頻長期一直不可變，也因為二區（法國Studio Canal公司）提供了有質量的花絮內容。不過這一切在本周成為了歷史，福克斯接過米高梅公司片庫的代理權之後，在一區發行了本片的四十周年紀念版DVD，與Studio Canal合作修復的畫面煥然一新（Studio Canal早先在法國發行了此片的HD DVD），首次成為可變寬銀幕，音軌上除了添加一條DTS以外，還有兩條評論音軌可供選擇。此外花絮方面也多有補充，最終讓本片在DVD時代終於有了一個免洗的終極版本。

一區新版的正片畫面修復得很棒，與一區老版比起來簡直是天壤之別，不僅修復了一區不可變老版畫面色彩的失真和串色，還有效消除了膠片劃痕和灰塵。而與PAL制的二區相比較，則在色調上更暗，特別是黑暗場景下，二區的偏紅非常明顯。

The Graate is a 1967 American comedy-drama film directed by Mike Nichols. It is based on the 1963 novel The Graate by Charles Webb, who wrote it shortly after graating from Williams College.
