1、才華。片中的年輕銀行家，憑著對銀行財務知識的精通，在獄中，不僅為自己贏得了生命的安全、些許的自由，更為獄友爭取到了物質、精神上的利益。也正因為對財務的精通，使得男主角最後徹底擊敗殘暴、陰險、腐敗的獄長，並使自己獲得精神上、物質上的自由。

I. 電影《肖申克的救贖》的英文觀後感

Atonement,是救贖之義。at one,指的是由一人所帶來的救贖，在基督教中指的是耶穌基督的犠牲，為人類帶來的救恩。而在肖申克的電影之中，主角最後的成功逃獄之前，為獄友帶來了各種恩惠，而他的逃獄也來自於多人的幫助，彼此為彼此在一群有罪之人聚集之地，成為了彼此的救贖。

事實上，主角Andy一開始是被陷害入獄的，所以救贖這個名詞，同時也帶有諷刺之義。無罪之人何來救贖。
