HOPEIn this film,I have to say,”Forrest Gump is a lucky dog.”Because although all of his action are unconscious and lack of thinking opinion, everytime he can get a goog result—a footballstar,a war hero,a richer…why?Out of question,it’s hope,and that is one of many issues which this film want to tell us.Inside Forrest’s heart,hope is equal to running and the box of chocolate─you never know what you’are gonna get.When the first time Jenny asked Forrest to run away and the first time Forrest freed himself from the bondage,hope had been growing up in his mind.And later,the death of his mother and the Jenny’s disappearance once again disappointed him.For searching his hope back,he began to run and the running lasted three years.At this momen,I think,he has already tooken running for his hope.Like his words,”I just felt like running.”And what is the Jenny’s hope?In fact,the beginning of the film has already told us—she prayed that she can turn to a bird,flying higher and higher.But at last ,she lost herself.I think this is a clever point in the film,— the hopes are good for our life or bad for our life.The answer to this question I still look for…DESTINY
To face destiny,this film has three kinds figure represent three attitudes.Forrest’s mother represent believer, Captain Dan represent suspicious men,Jenny represent rebel.
Forrest’s mother in bed told Forrest:”It’s something we’re all destined to do.I didn’t know,but I was destined to be your momma.I did the best I could.”
And Captain Dan at the beginning believed his destiny strongly,but after many things he started to doubt his destiny.In rainstorm,he roared:”Where the hell’s this God of yours?” He didn’t believe God any longer.His action showed that this kind of men are in a puzzle ─Does the destiny exist on earth?Jenny,as a rebel,has been rebeling her ordinary living all the time—turning on the cover of ,singing in the bar…She symbolises the rising generation in this American period.They rebeled this society and the destiny forced by tradition.But,this rebel tired in the end,and she choosed died calmly in Forrest’s arms.Forrest,who watches from outside,tolds us the film’s issue:“I don’t know if we each have a destiny,or if we’re all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze,but I think maybe it’s both.Maybe both is happening at the same time.I miss you,Jenny.If there’s anything you need,I won’t be far away. “Maybe destiny is like that feather,which has no concrete direction ,and the ordinary experience tired us.However,any turning is controlled by themselves freely,there’s one thing you must do─do you dest.LOVE”I’m not a smart man,but I know what love is.”Love is film’s eternal theme .We give our tears and laughter generously.The love in this film is a process which a man with low IQ speaks out “love”.I think that Forrest doesn’t only say to Jenny,but also say to his mother and Buba.Because the love realized by Forrest includes many things,not only heart.The death of his mother and many times Jenny’s disappearance let Forrest know what love is .In fact,no matter whether Jenny love Forrest, Forrest gets love and we get love from this film.In the end,I think of a poem:Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.It is because we are different that each of us is special.Do not give up when you still have something to give.Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.It is a fragile thread that binds us to each other.Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find.

Review On Forrest Gump I've never met anyone like Forrest Gump in a movie before, and for that matter I've never seen a movie quite like "Forrest Gump." Any attempt to describe him will risk making the movie seem more conventional than it is, but let me try. It's a comedy, I guess. Or maybe a drama. Or a dream. The screenplay by Eric Roth has the complexity of modern fiction, not the formulas of modern movies. Its hero, played by Tom Hanks, is a thoroughly decent man with an IQ of 75, who manages between the 1950s and the 1980s to become involved in every major event in American history. And he survives them all with only honesty and niceness as his shields. And yet this is not a heartwarming story about a mentally retarded man. That cubbyhole is much too small and limiting for Forrest Gump. The movie is more of a meditation on our times, as seen through the eyes of a man who lacks cynicism and takes things for exactly what they are. Watch him carefully and you will understand why some people are criticized for being "too clever by half." Forrest is clever by just exactly enough. Tom Hanks may be the only actor who could have played the role. I can't think of anyone else as Gump, after seeing how Hanks makes him into a person so dignified, so straight-ahead. The per formance is a breathtaking balancing act between comedy and sadness, in a story rich in big laughs and quiet truths. Forrest is born to an Alabama boardinghouse owner who tries to correct his posture by making him wear braces, but who never criticizes his mind. When Forrest is called "stupid," his mother tells him, "Stupid is as stupid does," and Forrest turns out to be incapable of doing anything less than profound. Also, when the braces finally fall from his legs, it turns out he can run like the wind. That's how he gets a college football scholarship, in a life story that eventually becomes a running gag about his good luck. Gump the football hero becomes Gump the Medal of Honor winner in Vietnam, and then Gump the Ping-Pong champion, Gump the shrimp boat captain, Gump the millionaire stockholder (he gets shares in a new "fruit company" named Apple Computer), and Gump the man who runs across America and then retraces his steps.
