Many people simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. Mrs. Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. Mr. Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr. Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different. Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. Mary likes reading classic books. (Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia. 把一部小说改编成电视剧是件难事，再浓缩成2个小时的电影就更要取其精华还要让故事情节流畅，05版《傲》看来故事发展还是有些迅速，有些地方衔接得有些生硬，有些人物的交待还是不够明朗，不过，这些都不是问题，这些都不可避免，整体来说还是非常流畅节奏紧凑速度适中的，在改变的几个场景上我觉得还有过之而无不及。比如达西先生第一次向伊丽莎白求婚，小说是在房间里，而电影改到了一个户外的雨天，一来电影为了情节发展不得不作调整，二来调整后的场景更具表现力，更符合现代人的口味。求婚这种浪漫的事，在一个死板板的客厅总不如在雨天里古朴的建筑下来的动人吧。大概也是导演了解到现代都市生活已经让我们对灰蒙蒙的摩天高楼，黑压压的人潮攒动失去了兴趣，于是更加突出了英国郊外恬静的山水风光，很多浪漫的场景都发生在一片湖光山色中，而英国常见的雨也起了很大的作用，观众能从雨后的镜头中感受到清新和自然的芬芳。最后的场景达西先生又一片云雾中走来，天一点一点的变亮，影影绰绰的达西先生也逐渐变得清晰，一切有种梦幻般的感觉，这都是导演在镜头运用上塑造的美感，而没领略过这类景致单纯读书的读者们就无法体会这种诗一般的美丽了。
