本片改编自17世纪CharlesPerrault编写的一部童话小说，影片与雅克·戴米的名作《秋水伊人》风格相似，其优美的摄影、华丽的服饰、引人入胜的配乐以及颇具现代幽默感的情节，赋予了这部带有童话色彩的歌舞片诗意般的迷人魅力。
【影片评价】
影片不改雅克德米眩目的色彩，动人的王子公主故事，音乐似乎比瑟堡雨伞来的动听，但影片只算一般。年轻的Catherine Deneuve很合适扮演这样理想的美女，淡淡的表情看不清是世故还是天真，实在美得让人心动，其中还有两位演员，《去年在马良巴》的女主角Delphine Seyrig扮演仙女，她的出场有种神奇的诱惑力，国王扮演者Jean Marias是让谷克多的情人。

影片色彩艳丽，赏心悦目，歌曲难度不大，德米编写的剧本不乏妙趣，跟好莱坞歌舞片流露出不同的风味。

《童话》创作背景：因为光良想要传达出“每个人的心中都应该有一个童话”的讯息，所以他写了这首歌曲。

这首歌在制作时，音乐统筹光良与陈建良特别找来了日本歌手森山直太朗的编曲制作人Taichi Nakamura来为这首歌编曲，他亲自把光良寄过去的Demo加上了各式乐器进行编曲。
