The Capetian Kings were descended from the Robertines, who had proced two Frankish kings, and previously held the title of "Duke of the Franks" ("x francorum"). This Frankish chy encompassed most of modern northern France but because the royal power was sapped by regional princes the term was then applied to the royal demesne as a shorthand. 春节过后，水仙花就凋谢了，通常人们都会把开过花的水仙球扔掉，这其实很可惜。水仙是一种多年生植物，它是靠鳞茎来繁殖的，如果将那些已开过花的鳞茎再埋到土里，它就可以继续生长繁殖。

选择背风向阳、土层深厚的菜园地或苗圃地，深耕耙平后筑成高垄，在垄上开沟，将已开过花的鳞茎埋入其中，叶片自然保留。

约一个月后，叶片枯萎休眠，此时掘起鳞茎，切掉须根，并沿基部剪去已枯黄的叶片，然后再将鳞茎埋入，深度以10厘米为宜，同时施入腐熟饼肥液或人粪尿，然后耙平。不能图省事，往花盆里一埋了事，因为鳞茎要在土壤里度过漫长的春、夏、秋三个季节，特别是夏、秋两季，高温炎热，鳞茎埋入其中，上面又无叶片，如果忘记给它们浇水施肥，会造成干旱死亡。

处理好鳞茎后，后面的工作就是日常的养护管理，平时只要注意给予园地充足的养分，同时保持园地湿润但不积水，鳞茎就能自然生长。等到11、12月份的时候，再将鳞茎挖出，那时你会发现老鳞茎已腐烂变空，但它的周围却繁殖出许多大大小小的鳞茎。把那些个大芽多的鳞茎挑选出来，洗净上面的泥土，剥除表层的褐色皮膜，再放在外面晒上几个小时的太阳，然后用刀在球顶部划一“十”字形切口，深度以不伤及鳞片内芽眼为度，以利芽、叶长出。放入清水中浸泡24小时，洗净切口上流出的胶状黏液，即可进行正常水养了。一般3天后，球底部可长出白色须根，球顶芽眼也渐渐萌出叶片。至于那些个小的鳞茎，因当年不会开花，就让它们在土壤里再生长一年，待翌年发育壮实后，再挖出进行水养。
