And when he watered the flower for the last time, and prepared to place her under the shelter of her glass globe, he realised that he was very close to tears. 小王子：Goodbye. 玫瑰花：... ... 小王子：Goodbye

开场白

宇宙很大，有着千千万万颗星球。
除了我们所知的，地球、木星、水星、火星等等，还有许多别的很小的星球。用望远镜很难观测到它们。而一旦有天文学家观测到某一颗星球，就会给它一个号码当名字。
小王子住的"B612号小行星"便是如此。
小王子生活的这颗星球很小，比一幢房子大不了多少。
星球上有两座活火山和一座死火山。火山口如果经常清扫的话就不会出现地球那样的火山大爆发了，而是平稳的、缓慢的燃烧。所以，小王子就会经常清扫三座火山。要问为什么连死火山口也清扫，那是因为谁知道它还会不会再活过来。
小王子的星球上长着一种朴素的、只有一圈花瓣的花。它们清晨开放，夜晚凋谢，从不妨碍别人。

《小王子》的创作背景

《小王子》这部童话虽然只是作者在3个月一气呵成的作品，但却有着深刻的创作背景，是作者几年、甚至是几十年生活和情感的积累，是厚积薄发的产物。

它不仅是一部给孩子看的童话，更是哲理与思考的“结晶”，充满了对人生的感悟。

圣埃克苏佩里这位外人眼中的硬汉子却有着敏感细腻的内心和忧郁柔曼的个性。作者创作《小王子》时已过不惑之年，几次人生大的起伏之后，逐渐走向成熟。

从空军退役后，无论是平淡无聊的推销员工作还是开辟新航线的惊险刺激，无论是空中邮局繁重危险的飞行任务，还是几次与死神的失之交臂，都成了圣埃克苏佩里的宝贵人生财富。

在美国的两年期间，他与母亲的通信联系几乎完全阻绝。他认为，童年是盼望奇迹、追求温情、充满梦想的时代，对比之下，大人死气沉沉、权欲心重、虚荣肤浅。“大人应该以孩子为榜样”。

于是作者选取了一个孩子看世界的角度，用孩子的童真、好奇心、和想更多了解这个世界的欲望来给成人讲故事，尤其是给那些“童心未泯”的成人讲，让他们借小王子的想象力暂时忘记属于大人世界的欲望，飞回童年，并反思现实生活，发现人生的真谛。
