With no experience at all, he was being offered the plum part[4] of Billy-- the pageboy in a new proction of "Sherlock Holmes". "Sherlock Holmes" opened on July 27, 1903 at the enormous "Pavilion Theatre" Charlie seemed to change overnight. It was as if he had found the thing he was meant to do.
