One thing I like about Tim Burton's work is his wonderful art workthat the art is always wonderful. The scenes in Sleepy Hollow are truly a wonder and Big Fish does not disappoint me either. Maybe it isn't as stunning as Sleepy Hollow, but Spectre is beautiful enough afterall.
The pathetic thing about alts is that they are not imaginative anymore. When William was little he envied his father's heroic experiences, yet when he grew up everything turned out to be a lie to him, something to hurt him but not something to amuse him. If he had discovered sooner how Ed Bloom had been able to have noticed of the small and interesting things and people happened in his life and made use of them to write his own tale and brought others laughters and joy, he would have realised sooner that he himself was a good story-teller too: The story Will told of was almost the most fascinating one in the film. Through telling the story the son finally understood his father. It's better than a thousand explanations. This way Big Fish is a tale for grown-ups.
Life is always a myth, but what comes out of it could be so fantastic once you got the courage and the positive spirit. Every human being has his or hers ups and downs in the long journey of lifetime, but the legend for each one could reach the perfect ending if proced in an imaginative and purely positive way like Edward Bloom's.

In this essay, I will first reveal this film’s indication of the social context of that age, then I will analyse the two contrary aspects of human nature indicated in this film through some impressive shots. Under the development of instrial technology, the economy in the Capitalism countries took off. People lived a rich, luxury and expensive life, and this rapid economic development lasted for almost 20 years. People had got used to this kind of life. The huge development in machinery changed people’s life greatly. Innovations of transportation, such as vehicles and tankers, allowed people to travel around. The appearance of these modern transportations was an important milestone of the instrialization. People thus became very confident on human intellectual capabilities. They believed their power of conquering the nature is inapproachable. While the Titanic is also called The Ship of Dreamers, in this film, when it bearing in with the ocean in the darkness, the mysterious ocean represents the unknown nature and the ship itself represents the advanced material capabilities people owned. In a shot that Mr Bruce explains his design of the Titanic, he said the ship possesses huge size, stability, luxury, and strength, and that the supremacy will never be challenged. In fact, all these words can be thought of the symbols of the Capitalism of that time in many people’s eyes. They thought the Capitalism is just like the Titanic, which should be unsinkable. The wonderful way of developing economy would stay in good condition eternally. However, things do not always follow the way people wish to be. The economic recession suddenly attacked the Capitalism countries at the end of the 19th Century. It was not until then that people did not realize the impracticality of their idealized unsinkable Capitalism. Capitalism will sink. And unfortunately it did sink. Just like the movie shows, when the ship broke into two parts and began to sink quicker and quicker, everybody knows the ship is going to sink, the priest kept reiterating to the disciples, the former would has passed away. As to the human nature uncovered in this film, can be thought of from both negative and positive aspects. I will first elucidate some gloomy characteristics revealed by the film. The first impressive characteristic may be that the fiancé of Rose, Karl would gain his ends by fair means or foul. When he noticed that Rose has obliquity with Jack, he took out the necklace with a diamond of 56 carats named the heart of the ocean, to request Rose not to leave him. He knows that Rose doesn’t love him, but he chose to use money to keep Rose with him. When Titanic was sinking, both Jack and Karl were trying to trick Rose into getting on the accident boat. Since Karl had already bribed a sailor, he lied to Rose that he would ensure that Jack will also get on the boat. Nevertheless, when Karl himself was rejected to get on the accident boat, he again used an intrigue that he picked up an outcast child and pretended to be the father of the child, and managed to get on the accident boat. To be honest, this movie is the best movie about father which I have seen. It is different from other movie because it through a fantastic story to show the love among father and his son.
The beginning of this movie seems strange. In many situations, the father told his son he had got a ring from a big fish. However, the son thought that story which his father said is ridiculous. On the wedding ceremony of his son, the father told that story once again. His son felt that made him beyond enrance. So there was no any communication between the son and father in the next three years until he knew his mother had got a serious illness. Then, the son tried to communicate to his father. His goal is that he wants to know if those stories are existing which his father said. The son visited the person who knows his father and look for the truth through the data about his father. Finally, he found those data prove which his father said were right. Until the father died, his son knew the meaning of his father. He made a fantastic and beautiful ending to the story of his father. At the end of the movie, on the funeral of the father, nearly all of the people who had appeared in the story of the father came, but they were not exaggerating like what his father said. Therefore his son understood what his father had done for him.
In my opinion, nearly all of us think father is great when we are children. Equivalently, fathers also hope their son can remember him and his love although one day they go away. So we can understand the father in the movie why he has created so many stories. There is no reason for us to destroy those beautiful stories. We need to distinguish true or false of all things but the people who we love. The truth of thing may be tedious for us. Therefore we will respect the people who make life colorful for the love in their hearts. In the end, it seems not important whether the father became a fish or not. What more important is the father will exist in the mind of his son. That is the power of father’s love.
