“毕业生”是一个特殊的群体，在校园里待了十几年，一朝赢得解放、卷铺盖走人，到底是迅速在社会上尽得风流还是深陷泥潭，往往取决于他们所做的一两件关键事。在这种人生重大转折的背景下，毕业生的奇怪心态也就显得不那么奇怪了。不扯远，单说爱情，刚毕业的学生仔自然而然要面对一堆声色犬马的诱惑，以及再也无所顾忌的轻松心态，无论是从情感还是从性上，像本·布拉多克这样的“愣头青”自然会蠢蠢欲动、跃跃欲试了，那些学生时代拴住男人脐下三寸的所谓伦理、道德，因为再无规矩和舆论的束缚而显得形同虚设。罗宾逊夫人的性感躯体其实只是诱因，根本的动力还在于刚从男孩自己的一颗祸心。可是电影毕竟是电影，本偷情的结果与现实中的大多数样本比起来实属倒霉透顶，偏偏就偷到了自己喜欢女生的妈妈身上，以至于被“老女人”算计而鸡飞蛋打、身败名裂，唉，男人啊，一旦解开裤带，等着他们的永远都是无穷无尽的麻烦。

不过《毕业生》毕竟还是一部好莱坞喜剧，尼科尔斯也没有兴趣严肃地讨论乱伦+婚外情这种社会问题。所以，我们在影片的尾声看到了“超现实”也是必然的一幕，执着的本终于打动了深爱的女孩艾琳，从婚礼上把她硬生生撬走，留下的是一群被锁在教堂的亲朋好友，带走的则是一个在公路上狂奔的落跑新娘。

尽管结局显得有些矫饰的成分，但仍然不能影响本片在几十年后仍为人津津乐道。相比之下，自然影片的前半部分更让人难以忘怀，尤其是罗宾逊夫人用美腿丝袜诱惑小本同学的那一幕，更是成为了影史经典。再加上西蒙&加芬克绝对高附加值的配乐，本片在家庭娱乐市场上一直潜力巨大、广受追捧的节目。

然而在DVD时代，本片迈向电影收藏者碟架的路却一点都不顺当。先前本人已经撰文介绍过此片DVD的发行状况，总的来说，就是二区强于一区，不仅是因为一区的正片视频长期一直不可变，也因为二区（法国Studio Canal公司）提供了有质量的花絮内容。不过这一切在本周成为了历史，福克斯接过米高梅公司片库的代理权之后，在一区发行了本片的四十周年纪念版DVD，与Studio Canal合作修复的画面焕然一新（Studio Canal早先在法国发行了此片的HD DVD），首次成为可变宽银幕，音轨上除了添加一条DTS以外，还有两条评论音轨可供选择。此外花絮方面也多有补充，最终让本片在DVD时代终于有了一个免洗的终极版本。

一区新版的正片画面修复得很棒，与一区老版比起来简直是天壤之别，不仅修复了一区不可变老版画面色彩的失真和串色，还有效消除了胶片划痕和灰尘。而与PAL制的二区相比较，则在色调上更暗，特别是黑暗场景下，二区的偏红非常明显。
