大学英语语法--系动词与实意动词
在解答词汇和语法结构题时，可用以下几种方法：
1. 看准就选的直接选择法
"词汇与结构"考试的题型由题句和四个备选答案组成。在四个答案中，只有一个是正确的，其余三个都是干扰项。考生在答题时，首先应当运用直接选择法，也就是在做题时找出题句中与备选答案相关的词，利用语法规则--一般为固定搭配或习惯用法，直接选出答案。一旦看准，就不必再往下看，这样既能节省时间，又能提高正确率。
例：1994年1月四级第45题:

2. 逐个排除法
在答题时，如果不能从四个备选答案中根据词组的固定搭配或习惯用法直接选出答案的话，就应该从题的句子结构和上下文意思两方面加以考虑，通过对语义、语法、逻辑的分析，或通过词汇、语法、辨析来逐个排除，确定三项都有错误，以便推论不知意思的项为正确答案。
例：1999年月四级第50题

例：1995年6月四级第48题

本句的意思是“虽然人们可以从电视了解最新消息，但电视不大可能完全取代报纸”。句中unlikely表示说话人认为某事将来不大可能发生，或者认为不大可能成为事实，因此应当用陈述语气将来时。选项A) replaced 为一般过去时，从全句意思来看，显然不合适。应予以排除。选项B)havereplace 违反了主谓语一致的原则，应予以排除。选项C) replace与单数主语television在数上不一致，也违反了主谓语一致原则，应予以排除。因此，本题答案为D)will replace。
再如：
Alone in a deserted house，he was so busy with hisresearch work that he felt________lonely.

nothing but（除……只有），all but（几乎），everything but不是惯用短语，若填入，意思就成了“除了孤独外，什么都感到了”。这样，在逻辑上就不通了。因此A，C，D均与文意不符，故排除。只有anything but（除……以外任何事；根本不……）符合文意，所以答案是B。
3. 按动词的适当形式选择
在英语的各类词性中，动词是变化最多、应用最广的词类。考生除了熟练掌握谓语动词的时态、语态，以及非谓语动词在句中的不同作用之外，在答题时，首先要根据题句中的时间状语来判断谓语动词的时态；其次，按照语法规则（包括习惯搭配）选择出动词的适当形式，同时，还应考虑到题句中时态的前后呼应和题句本身的意义。
例：1990年1月四级第57题
The manager promised to keep me________of how outbusiness was going on.
A) to be informed B) oninforming C) informed D)informing
全句意思是：“经理答应让我不断了解我们的业务进展情况”。“keep＋名词＋分词”表示“让……(保持)”。由于inform 是及物动词，me是它的动作对象，所以要用过去分词informed。答案是选项C) informed。keep on是一个短语动词，表示“继续做”，keep和on之间不能插入宾语，所以选项B) on informing不对。我们可以说keep on doing sth.，但不能说keep sb. on doing sth.。如果keep后面用现在分词，则keep的宾语是分词动作的主题，这与本题不符，所以D) 选项也不正确。
4. 概率确定法
考生做选择题时，在备选答案中遇到生词是难免的，这时候，不能一见到生词就不知所措，而是应该认真推敲认识的词，同时利用概率论的知识，比较准确地选择答案。如果能够认识四个备选答案中的一个、两个、或三个，可以做出以上的考虑；如果四个都不认识，这是虽用不上任何接题技巧，但也要利用构词知识根据上下文猜一个答案，这样至少会有25%答对的可能性。总之，一定要答题，不能空着。此外，需要强调的是，考生在答题时，对判断不准的答案，不能太犹豫不决，而应该当机立断做出选择。

本句的意思是：“这对老夫妇自己已经有了3个孩子，但还是决定……一个男孩和一个女孩。”空格中显然应填入一个表示“收养”意思的词。所以答案是D) adopt。选项A) Adapt和adopt形状相似，但意思截然不同。前者表示“（使）适应”，后者表示“收养”。其它两个选项也都没有“收养”的意思，都不可能是正确答案。
例：1997年6月四级第36题

综合分析，你目前的当务之急是：
1.建立兴趣。
——学习是一种人生需要，它可使我们脱离庸俗和野蛮，而进入文明和开化......。建立对学习的兴趣，是一种大兴趣。这种兴趣一旦建立了，就不会偏颇任何课程。接下来，就是建立对英语的“强烈兴趣”！ 英语作为一门简单易行的世界语，其语调之阴阳顿挫，仿佛一种美妙的音乐，只要听多了，自然而然会喜欢她的！ 我的孩子今年上高三，也是文科，初一时，我给她买了mp3，我们签了“协定”——不能听一首中文歌曲，只能听英语资料或英文歌曲；否则，马上没收，并且从此不再碰触mp3！
似乎严厉了点，但她从听英语歌曲入手逐步提高听力，经过两年的磨练，她对英语的兴趣已经大的惊人——英语已经成了她生命的一部分，每天不读几篇短文、不听几首歌曲或几篇课文，浑身难受。好吗，你现在让她听中文歌曲，她都听不进去。曾经有段时间，她们班的所有女生都对超女着魔，只有她一个人冷静对待......
目前她的英语水平远远高于其他同学之上，这与对英语的强烈兴趣有直接的关系。
——讲这些，只是想举例说明兴趣对学习的重要性。索然无味的学习，能谈得上是一种享受吗？！ 因此，培养兴趣是你的当务之急！！
既然是语言，培养兴趣就应该从“听”入手。
听什么呢——英语歌曲、中学课文mp3，最好随身听，随处听！
还有一招：看英文电影！ 我孩子每周末必看一部英语电影——既练听力，又可了解英语背景知识（如英语国家的人文、地理、风土、文化等等）。这条经验我强烈建议你考虑。每周一部，最好是中英文字幕的！（我后边有礼物给你，我给女儿搜集的所有高考资料包括英语电影！）
——“听”和“看”还可以建立一种英语环境，我们每天生活在母语环境里，只有不断地给耳朵和大脑以英语的刺激，才能熟悉并慢慢融入到英语中去。长期的熏陶，你对英语的感悟力、理解力和判断力就会大大增强！遇到英语单词、英语句子会不假思索地做出反应，而不像从前那样先要将英语句子转为汉语才能理解它！
2.清除障碍！
你的障碍除了单词之外，还有语法、篇章结构分析等（主要是长难句分析的能力！）。所以，除了记单词之外，尽量利用周末等整块的时间完整地弄懂一个语法规则，当然也可以平日学学语法知识，到了周末来个系统总结，最好是写在一个小本上，然后反复看，反复体会，还得学以致用，用自己学到的语法知识，去分析以前被认为是障碍的长难句（长难句最好也用一个本子记下来，碰到一个就抄写一个），随着你自身能力的慢慢提高，你会发现先前的长难句，居然被攻克了，那种快乐会使你升华！
其他障碍比如发音是否标准，也很重要，自己慢慢改正！
3.持之以恒
有了兴趣，清除了一些障碍，慢慢你就能学进去，在若能够持之以恒——比如，每天定量记单词10个，每天摘抄长难句一句（不要嫌少，能坚持一年，就是360个长难句子！），每天多多少少主动触及一些语法知识，每周定期汇总复习本周的语法，每天能坚持大声朗读一篇课文，坚持再坚持，小伙子，你离目标会越来越近的！
4.循序渐进
遵从事物发展的基本规律来学习能取得事半功倍之功效！ 比如语法，先词法后句法；比如课文，起始时选短文，再往中长篇过度；比如我给你的整个学习计划，可以根据自己的实际情况，一项一项地实施，等到渐入佳境时，就可以全面抓起了。难免有时候会退缩或放弃，不要紧再来，再来——这本身就是一种修炼过程，等达到一定境界，整体就会提升到一个新的层次——再说明了点，如果中途停止或者中断了，再来！ 谁都会有放弃的时候，关键时放弃后，有人会悲叹，有人会重新奋起，这就是修炼！ 真需要一个过程，慢慢提升自己。
5.由浅入深！
单词固然重要，但切忌只学单词而忽略语法和句式、音调、语调等的学习及训练。我看到很多学生拿着单词书不断地背，其效果并不明显！记单词要有一定的语言环境——最好是看短文即通过阅读记单词，阅读还有个好处就是能大大提高你对英语的感悟力和理解力（与坚持经常性的听力训练有相同功效）。等熟练掌握了1500个左右的单词后，重点恐怕要放在阅读上，坚持长期看短文，比如新概念英语第二册就特别好，万勿好高骛远，读懂了、理解了比什么都强，片面强调速度或者难度，只能是事倍功半。还有课本上的阅读材料就很好，如果感觉难，可以阅读上学期或更早一点的英语课本！等阅读了一定的文章后，可以慢慢写些简单的英语文章，英语日记也算！或者记英语读书笔记！这样，多个层面提高自己，不愁能力提不高，更不愁分数上不去！
6.要有一定的悟性！
英语与汉语在语法、表述方法等方面有很大的不同。如果以汉语的表达习惯去套英语，肯定学不好。比如，英语中一个句子不能没有动词（系动词或行为动词），如果一个英语句子缺少了动词肯定是错误的；而且一个句子只能有一个动词（复合句例外）如果非要用两个动词，第二个动词必须用其非谓语动词形式（如不定时、动名词等）。举例： 我喜欢游泳——i like to swim,或,i like swimming. 还有不同语言之间存在词汇缺失现象，有些汉语词汇在英语里不存在，所以要想一一对应是不可能的，这点切记，切记。
7. 功夫下在课外
课堂上当然要认真听课，要跟上老师的节奏。不懂之处马上记下来，怎么记——直接记不会的句子最好！下课后及早解决！我前面讲过，要不断清除障碍，如果疑难没得到及时解决，必然问题成堆，这就是障碍堆积！肯定要影响你的整个学习步调甚至直接影响你对英语的学习兴趣及信心。
你不是纳闷，为什么有些同学课堂上并不怎么听讲，反而英语水平始终名列前茅呢——答案就是他们把功夫下在了课外。课堂上，老师只能照顾大家的平均水平来讲课，水平高一些的同学自然会对自己早已熟知的内容，兴致不高。如果你按照我的建议，把功夫下在课外，下在平时，学会积累，学会排除（障碍），保证每天都有一点进步，过不了几个月，你也会达到那种境界的！
8.讲究方法和技巧！
比如记单词就有方法和窍门。可以采用复习回忆法，交叉记忆法等。每天学新单词前，先合上书，回忆昨天学过的单词，对于那些实在回忆不起来的单词，要重点记忆！单词有pronunciation,spelling,meaning,等层面需要掌握，所以采用口念、手写、脑记，再结合心忆，肯定会比单一方法有更长久的效果。每天放学、下学，甚至上卫生间的时候，都可刻意去记忆一些难词、偏词！尽量主动出击——不要老是被动记忆，如果找个伙伴，他说英语你说汉语或者反过来，就比你被动地背诵要强得多！如果将单词所在的句子一块念出来或讲出来，效果会更好！

其实，学英语没有捷径的。我这里的捷径意指在您已经有了一定的英语基础，只是想早日脱离哑巴英语的窘境的前提下，如何尽快提高自己英语能力尤其是口语表达能力的、一条最行之有效并始终使您兴趣盎然的路子。
看带中英字幕的英语电影！
要想用英语跟人交流，只是学以致用的问题。
我看了2年的英语电影，大概有上千部吧，体会是：
（1）给了我英语环境，我用英语思维的时间和机会大大增加了，感悟力、反应速度等有了质变！
（2）给了我大量的英语国家的人文、地理、思维方式等等所谓背景知识，使我与老外交流时，能避免很多的误会。
（3）学会了大量的口语表达方式。有很多句式，自己不会说，但人家说出来，自己听得懂。说明自己并没有掌握。看多了，慢慢地自己学着说，还积累了不少——厚厚的两大本！
（4）纠正了大量的发音错误。 主要是重音错误。
感觉，跟两年前有了质的飞跃！

我看带中英字幕英语电影的一些方法
（1）同一部电影要看几遍。
（2）第一遍，边看边跟着演员的台词大声说。可以锻炼口语表达，比如节奏、语调等等。
（3）第二遍，边看边记台词，可以借助一些速记符号（我原来按照过老版的step by step中的速记训练，练习过半年的速记）。
（4）第三编，核对我自己写下的台词。针对拼写错误，识记错误等，找出错误根源，并一一纠正，反复记忆出错的词语。
这样，几遍下来，收获很大，有些片段甚至可以背诵！
