如果你是對宗教感興趣，那麼的確可以研究研究。在西方哲學史上，對於上帝存在的證明是很多的。很多哲學家尤其是經院哲學的哲學家對上帝的存在都進行過證明。 就我個人的觀點而言，摩西十誡究竟出自誰手是一個幾乎不可能回答的問題。就算你去問摩西，他的答案都不一定靠譜。為什麼呢？也許摩西十誡只是摩西夢里的一些東西，亦或者只是摩西在當時特定環境下產生某種宗教體驗而寫下的。作為虔誠信徒的摩西當然會將這一切歸功於上帝。現在，我們去追究摩西十誡到底是不是上帝寫的沒有什麼具體的意義。十誡都是勸人向善的，已經為人類的共同道德所接受，我們可以去信奉、去實行。 摩西十誡的意義，我覺得跟劉邦的約法三章差不多。為了管理好族人，為了能讓自己的部落有一個比較好的秩序，摩西向人們宣揚了十誡，並說是上帝寫的。這跟我們現在頒布一項法律的性質差不多。上帝是權威，所以上帝制定的戒律自然有無上的約束性，很容易讓當時的人們接受。

《摩西十誡》據說是上帝在西乃山的山頂親自傳達給摩西的，是上帝對以色列人的告誡。上帝本人將這些話刻在石碑上，送給摩西。但是，後來摩西看到族人根本不聽從這些誡條，一怒之下就將石碑毀了。上帝又命令摩西再製作新的石碑，完成後，放在約櫃（Ark of the Covenant）里。
以色列人將約櫃看作聖物，放在聖殿里，任何人不得擅自觸摸。《聖經》里記載有人因為擅自觸摸約櫃而被雷擊致死。而且，有外人從至聖所的帳門窺望過，發現約櫃的上方經常都有雲霧積聚。後世的科學家根據這些紀錄，推斷可能在約櫃內放置了一種簡單的生物電池，就像在古埃及陵墓發現的那一種。電的積聚使水汽積聚，並使觸摸的人觸電。

「十誡」中有一條是「你不可以殺人」，很多信徒就是因為這句話，終身不願意持有武器。這句話只有6個字，但是反復誦念，真的有一種大義凜然、百邪不侵的感覺。
「摩西十誡」在《聖經》出現了兩次，一次是在《出埃及記》（Exos），另一次是在《申命記》（Deuteronomy）。兩次語句有差異，但是基本內容是一致的。
《聖經》中並沒有明確提出「十誡」，具體十條誡文是後人總結歸類的，因此，各個教派的「十誡」條文都不完全一樣。
下面是經總結後的「摩西十誡」。這是基督教新教的分法，天主教的分法與此不同，第一條和第二條是連在一起的，而第十條被分成了兩個部分。
