The Shining is, without doubt, one of Stanley Kubrick's undisputed masterpieces and a true classic in horror cinema. It is a film that, over the course of the years, has managed to scare the living hell out of its audiences (and still does). The film is an adaptation of Stepehen King's original novel, written in the late '70s, and although the film is not very loyal to the book, it still stands as a thing of its own.
Right from the beginning, as we contemplate the car going to the hotel from those stunning aerial shots, deeply inside us we know that something in the film, somehow, sometime is going to go wrong. As we obtain that severe warning, an almost inaudible voice gently whispers to us 'sit tight', a sense of unexpectedness invades us all, and it is that very same feeling that makes our hair stand on end throughout out the entire movie.
The plot is simple: Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) becomes the caretaker of the Overlook Hotel in up in the secluded mountains of Colorado. Jack, being a family man, takes his wife (Shelley Duvall) and son (Danny Lloyd) to the hotel to keep him company throughout the long, isolated nights. During their stay, strange things occur when Jack's son Danny sees gruesome images powered by a force called 'the shining' and Jack is heavily affected by this. Along with writer's block and the demons of the hotel haunting him, Jack has a complete mental breakdown and the situation takes a sinister turn for the worse.
The film, unlike many horror-oriented films nowadays, doesn't only rely on stomach-churning and gory images (which it does contain, anyway) but on the incredibly scary music based on the works of Béla Bartók and on the excellent cinematography (the Steadicam is superbly used, giving us a sense of ever-following evil), as well. The terrifying mood and atmosphere of the film is carefully and masterfully woven by Kubrick, who clearly knows how to really make a horror movie.
Jack Nicholson's powerful performance as the mad father and husband is as over the top as it is brilliant. Shelley Duvall, who plays the worrying wife who tries to help her son, is also a stand out; she shows a kind of trembling fear in many scenes and is able to display weakness and vulnerability in a very convincing way. Undoubtedly, The Shining is full of memorable moments (the elevator scene or the 'Heeeeeere's Johnny' one-liner for instance) and, simply put, it's flawlessly brilliant.
Stanley Kubrick's direction is pure excellence, giving the whole film a cold and atmospheric look, thus creating an unbearable sense of paranoia and terror. There are moments of sheer brilliance and exquisite perfection in this film; the horrifying maze chase is a perfect example. Every single shot is masterfully created and there are some genuinely scary scenes which will make you sit on the edge of your seat.
The Shining is, in my opinion, a special landmark in horror cinema which will always be regarded as one of the scariest movies in film history. Since I saw it last year, when I was 13, I have rarely been able to have a bath in my bathtub.Just in case, ya know. Overall, The Shining is incomparably the scariest film I've ever seen in my whole life (and I can tell you I've seen a great deal of horror films).
It is an unforgettable, chilling, majestic and truly, profoundly scary film crafted by an eccentric genius who wants to show that the impossible can be done. The Shining is a sublime, hauntingly intriguing and endlessly watchable film that shows Kubrick at his best.

"Kramer vs. Kramer" is a terrific drama about an unhappy woman who walks out on her husband and young son. The husband now has to take up the responsibilities of taking care of the boy. As he does, they get to know each other better. But then, the mother and wife returns, and she wants custody of the boy. "Kramer vs. Kramer" has lots of drama with some wonderful bits of comedy thrown in for good measure. Dustin Hoffman won his first Best Actor Oscar for his brilliant performance here. Most people say his performance in "Rainman", which won him his second Oscar, is his best. He was great in that film, but I disagree that its his best. In my opinion, the best performance of Hoffman's career is in this movie. Scene after scene shows us why Hoffman is one of the best American actors working today. He's also funny at times. Also giving a terrific performance is Meryl Streep, who wasn't as well known when she made this film like she is today. Streep, like Hoffman, also won her first Oscar (for Best Supporting Actress) for her work in "Kramer vs. Kramer" as the wife and mother who tries to find herself after walking out on her family. Justin Henry, who was only 8 years old when the film came out, is wonderful as Hoffman and Streep's son. He won an Oscar nomination for his role here, and still to this day he is the youngest performer to receive an Oscar nomination in a competitive category (Best Supporting Actor). Jane Alexander is also fine as a conserned family friend. She too got an Oscar nomination (for Supporting Actress where she lost to co-star Streep). "Kramer vs. Kramer" is a great film from start to finish. Writer-director Robert Benton has made a film that's absolutely unforgettable.

我最近重溫了不少恐怖電影,而《閃靈》是我第一次看,這部七十年代的電影的確讓我吃了一驚。七十年代,電影留給我印象最深的是《終結者》和《星球大戰》,兩者均以視覺效果取勝。而《閃靈》,我覺得是攝影鏡頭和氣氛營造最成功,而且是迄今為止,恐怖電影之中,極少見到能夠把鏡頭和氣氛做得如此出色。我心目中又多了一部經典。
故事原作者史蒂芬·金,我印象最深的是根據他小說改編的電影《1408幻影空間》和《危情十日》。我坦白的說,雖然我很喜歡看小說,但這位恐怖大師的文學作品我是一本都沒有看過。唯獨是根據他小說改編的電影,才讓我認識到這位大師。
《閃靈》的畫面相當壓抑,有一種逃不出去的壓抑。主要來自於偌大的酒店空間,空空盪盪,鏡頭一直讓觀眾融入到這種環境之中,感同身受。從心理上,導演已經牢牢控制住觀眾的情緒。一股如潮湧的血水傾瀉而入的畫面,更是讓這種恐懼升華。相信看過周星馳導演作品《功夫》的朋友,一定不會忘記一個場面。周星馳去到不正常人研究中心救火雲邪神時,經過一道走廊,一股血水狂瀉而出,預示著火雲邪神一旦從這里出去將令世間血流成河。而這個場景,我現在才知道是抄自《閃靈》的。原來《功夫》除了向《指環王》《黑客帝國》致敬外,還有一部《閃靈》。
另外,我最喜歡的是這部電影的鏡頭手法。既有追逐時的蒙太奇手法,亦有長鏡頭跟拍,而這些鏡頭是把觀眾帶入緊張氣氛的關鍵。跟拍鏡頭尤其讓我印象深刻,記得男主角去到酒店面試的時候、黑人演員帶著女主角在廚房走了一圈、小孩子騎著車在大廳里轉了幾圈、迷宮樹牆等地方都用了連續跟拍的長鏡頭。在我印象中《冬陰功》和《丁丁歷險記》里的長鏡頭最為深刻,《丁丁歷險記》簡直拍出了一個,真人拍攝是不可能拍出來的復雜鏡頭,中間追逐火爆的一場戲酣暢淋漓,讓觀眾360度全方位跟隨著男主角渡過這驚魂三十秒。這個不間斷的追逐鏡頭絕對是影史上的經典!只要鏡頭沒有斷開,觀眾的心就會一直跟著鏡頭而懸著。這一點,《閃靈》是做得非常好的!
無論是導演的處理手法,還是男演員的表演,都堪稱完美。男主角的表演,我認為是電影成功的其中一個關鍵,一個眼神動作,一個深藏不露的笑容都能襯托影片的恐怖氣氛。再加上電影的配樂也相當不錯。

當我看到越來越多的線索總後總結出自己的觀點時,我由衷的感覺到了導演庫布里克的睿智和他完美的電影語言的運用,但是就是這樣,仍然有1,2個情節有疑惑,解釋的有些勉強。而且我知道,在留露於表面的情節之外,一定還有導演更想要表達的東西!
沒有看過這部電影的人還是不要看我的解讀,會減少你看這部電影時的樂趣,這絕對是一部值得你去看3遍,甚至更多遍的電影。下面講講,我對我們看不懂的地方的解釋,有條件的可以對照電影,我沒電影貼圖,就直說了:1,房子里各種不因該出現的形象,比如酒保,女人,上一任管理員等等是鬼還是什麼?我認為他們不是鬼,而是JACK潛意識中的產物,下面開始分析:當JACK受到了委屈想喝一杯的時候,來到了酒吧,他說想喝酒甚至用靈魂去換,這是一個酒吧帶著很多酒出現了,而JJACK見了他竟沒有奇怪反而叫出了他的名字!為什麼?這是JACK的潛意識中創造的不真實的人物,也可以理解為他看到的幻覺(但這種幻覺是他潛意識中創造的),所以他不奇怪,叫出了他認為合理的名字,請注意當女主角來到酒吧里找JACK時可以看到酒吧里並沒有酒保,女主角拍了一下JACK,JACK有一個很明顯的回過神來的動作!這里,導演用細膩的電影手法,告訴了我們:這是JACK的潛意識,有人可能說這我早看出來了,但理解這一點,對後面的解讀非常有幫助!

9,剩下是還沒有解決的問題:為什麼女主角後來看到了一些奇怪的東西,也看到了血潮。我和朋友討論時他說大概是因為JACK的兇殺的念力太過強烈使的女主角也受到了影響產生了幻覺。我對他說:好象是寂靜嶺- -#,不過,無法預料閃靈也許有這能力;還有那個熊人和一個男的在口罩(音譯)昨天看了個解讀,表達了導演對白人的藐視。那個熊人漏出屁股,看來是個白人- -!最後一個:最後的照片,JACK的前世在這座酒店,這是肯定的,可是為什麼最後導演要告訴我們這個?我門看這幅照片,JACK站在了最中間最前排的位置,我想他的地位一定很高,酒店的老闆之類的,酒店以前是印地安人的墓地,酒店的老闆,JACK的前世,受到了詛咒:詛咒他在下輩子會回到酒店殺死自己的親人。還算合理吧

上次只是說了情節上的解釋,沒來得及說哪裡好。我不懂電影的專業知識,只能舉例子大概說說,希望大家能夠明白:只有庫大師這樣的大師才能拍出這樣的心理恐怖,構思太巧妙了!想想他給觀眾的線索吧:故意讓JACK說錯名字,說錯殺人過程(其實是堆屍不是碎屍)。聰明的觀眾經過思考可以發現這些線索。但更厲害的是這些看似JACK潛意識中的漏洞卻十分合理,甚至完美!(JACK沒理由記住上個管理員的全名,也沒理由記著管理員把死人放在了哪裡,於是把自己做的惡夢加在了他身上)大家想想JACK在潛意識中創造的這個格雷迪表面上看來挺「完美」,酷似上個管理員,可是實際上卻有很多漏洞,而這些漏洞,這些線索不是生硬的,不是電影導演強加的,不是可有可無的,不是純粹為推出最後結論服務的,而是那麼合理!甚至不可缺少!真的很有味道!清水崇今年的稀人,很有閃靈的味道,把主人公的真實世界與幻覺混合在一起,難以區分,但是卻沒有閃靈這樣給人的震撼力,也沒有向德爾伯特格雷迪這樣的神來之筆!在對比一些其他的心理驚聳的電影比如小島驚魂,第6感。這些電影都是在最後告訴你答案,答案絕對會超出你的想像。導演也會留下一些線索,與最後的答案呼應。這兩部心理驚聳電影確實夠經典。最後的答案也確實是顛覆性的震撼,但是想想他們前面提供的線索,很有一些為最後的答案堆積出來,為答案服務的感覺,對劇情來講可有可無。而這些電影最有噱頭,最好看的地方也在與最後的揭密。再對比一下閃靈。僅僅是假格雷迪那一幕的懸念的設計已經超越了小島和,第6感,而導演決不停留,帶領的觀眾,引領著觀眾去思考,與以前的情節對照,引著觀眾得出新的結論。接著有有更多的問題,疑惑著觀眾,我可以說,如果用心看這部電影,這部電影絕對沒有一分鍾可以讓你停止思考,讓你停止緊張,因為一步步的接近事實,你會感到開心,也會對事實產生恐怖。看閃靈的樂趣盡在與此!閃靈不象小島和第6,把觀眾當做旁觀者,擺在一旁,講自己的故事,導演根本就沒有想讓觀眾在看了一半就能看明白的意思。而閃靈不是這樣,導演讓觀眾和電影互動了起來,只要你夠聰明,夠仔細,你就能看出裡面的玄機!而絕對沒有難為你,故意拍的不可理解,賣關子的意思!但是實際上,導演只是把他認為。正常合理的東西拍出來而已,JACK認為那是真的,所以十分象真的。只是我們智商不夠,看不出來而已而最後,拋出的不是象以上那2部電影一樣的「答案」,而是原因:因果。結束。引人遐想。這部電影融入了導演太多的話,太多的思考和對人類的理解在裡面。我想在我的年齡很難在閃靈里看到那麼多,把一部恐怖片拍的這么經典的同時還加入了自己對人類的理解,對社會的認識。真的難得!這也讓我更加佩服這位導演!

What can I say about the scariest movie I have ever seen that has not already been said by others more articulate than yours truly? Do not view this film expecting to see a screen version of the Stephen King novel. Rather, this is a Stanley Kubrick film, and to fully appreciate it one should judge it within the context of Kubrick's entire body of work as a serious filmmaker. Thematically, THE SHINING relates most closely to 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, though flourishes of PATHS OF GLORY, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE and BARRY LYNDON do manage to figure prominently in the film's overall technique.
In a nutshell (no pun intended), Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall co-star with Oregon's Timberline Lodge - enlisted to portray the exterior of the Overlook Hotel - in a story that appears on the surface to be about ghosts and insanity, but deals with issues of child abuse, immortality and ality.
What the film might lack initially in terms of coherence is more than made up for in technique. Garrett Brown (the male voice in those old Molson Golden commercials), inventor of the Steadicam, chases young Danny Lloyd through hotel corridors and an amazing snow maze, providing magic-carpet-ride fluidity to scenes that ten years earlier would have been impossible to accomplish. If the film starts off too slow, remember who the director is. This man likes to take his time, and the results are well worth it: incredible aerial shots of the Overlook Hotel; horrific Diane Arbus-inspired twins staring directly at us; portentous room 237 and its treasure trove of terrible secrets; elevators that gush rivers of blood in slow-motion; Jack Torrance's immortality found via the hotel (akin to David Bowman's journey through the Space Gate); and some of the best use of pre-existing music ever assembled for a motion picture.
It would take a book to examine and defend the film's strong points and drawbacks. If you've never seen it, you owe it to yourself to watch it alone with the lights off, with no interruptions, and make sure that it's raining. This is a cinematic experience that changed my life at the age of 14. Makes a great double feature with Robert Wise's 1963 thriller THE HAUNTING.

J. 求美國恐怖電影《閃靈》深度剖析 本人悟性不高 有許多不明之處望高手指點迷津 ~~
關於電影的情節我就不多敘述了,直接來看電影闡述的內容吧。
首先,這是一部很正規的恐怖片,講述的就是邪靈害人的事。有的人說是因為傑克的工作壓力,因為丹尼的人格分離(丹尼和托尼雙重人格),甚至還有因為女主角的長相奇怪等等推測出:電影中的事件是因為人物的心理「變態」引起。我非常不贊同這些觀點,因為電影中的好幾個細節暗示了邪靈才是最主要的原因。第一,傑克一家去酒店的路上,提到過拓荒時期這里發生過一起「人吃人」的事件。第二,傑克一家到達酒店的時候,酒店老闆介紹說「酒店地址是印第安人的墳場」。第三,酒店的黑人廚師擁有和丹尼一樣的「閃靈」,說明丹尼並不是人格分裂。第四,酒店上任看守殺人的事件傑克並沒有告訴過家人,但是丹尼在酒店中見到的兩個小女孩,以及血腥場景完全符合上任看守殺人的場面。第五,丹尼受到傷害,傑克看到腐屍的237號房間,之前黑人廚師就告誡過丹尼千萬不要接近,說明這個房間自身有問題。第六,傑克第二次去喝酒的時候,酒保說他的錢在那個地方「沒用」,這說明傑克與酒保以及舞會中的「人」不是同一個世界——說明酒店有邪靈存。第七,黑人廚師預知酒店將會發生悲劇,不顧天氣嚴寒,趕回酒店,丟了性命,但是也證明了他的預知。綜合分析,悲劇發生的過程雖然傑克一家處在與世隔絕的酒店可能有關,但是並非和外界沒有聯系,並不能用孤獨引起的心理問題去妄加解釋,事實就是有「鬼」存在,害人。
其次,再來分析一下幾個不太明白的鏡頭。第一個是:丹尼從兩個「小女孩」和父親傑克處聽到了一句相同的話「...永遠,永遠,永遠...」這是因為傑克已經開始被邪靈入侵,潛意識里要永遠留在酒店。第二個是:傑克追殺丹尼的時候,溫迪看到的那一個人和一個怪物,這是因為,傑克已經徹底失去了自我,邪靈們更加猖狂行事的結果,這一點在其他恐怖片中有很多相似之處。第三個是:最後那張有傑克在內的1921年的老照片,這才是最大的疑惑,為什麼傑克會出現在50年前的照片上,這是因為酒店內的邪靈殺人之後就會把他們的遺像留進照片中。這三點是我個人的見解,雖然都是臆測,但是有上邊分析的「鬼片」做前提 ,完全可以成立的。
第三,這是一部恐怖電影,只是表層的意義,通過故事可能會引發不同的思考,比如宗教上講的因果報應,傑克工作壓力導致精神崩潰,黑人廚子對小丹尼的無私關愛,傑克之前酗酒對小丹尼的傷害可能會造成永遠的陰影等等。這些所謂仁者見仁,智者見智,我就不把我的見解強加於人了。
