於是，他改進了鋼鐵盔甲，製造了另一塊聚變能源，成為真正的鋼鐵俠。
俄巴迪亞·斯坦(傑夫·布里奇斯飾)這個覬覦斯塔克的富豪生活已久的壞傢伙按捺不住，在斯塔克軍火公司里大興波瀾，與恐怖分子頭目秘密交易。從其手中獲得斯塔克逃出恐怖分子基地時所損壞的盔甲殘骸並在一班科學家的幫助下，奪取了托尼的聚變能源將「鋼鐵」盔甲改進用在了自己身上。至此故事中的頭號壞蛋終於有了為所欲為的理由和底氣。
托尼只能靠著老的電磁石心臟同斯坦戰斗。最後波茨啟動了電弧的所有能源，將斯坦打敗。在第二天的新聞發布會上，托尼宣布:" I am Iron Man." （我是鋼鐵俠）！
