在影片开始不久，有一个情节，是江姐见到孙明霞。她微笑着问：“明霞，生我的气了吧？”因为我一直没看过开头，在这个情节以前就没看过了，所以不知江姐为何问了这句话（是否是因为组织没有批准孙明霞去川北？）。但那种亲切的微笑、亲切的话语，一下就把她朴素、和蔼、平易近人的品质体现了出来。
江姐看到城门上挂着丈夫头颅的那一场，我觉得氛围营造得非常好：淅淅沥沥的阴雨、三三两两的农民、高高耸立的城门，直到江姐看清了布告，这一切安排，直接营造了“路上行人欲断魂”的氛围。
在江姐的性格中，最感染我的是她面对一切风险、考验，直至酷刑与死亡时所表现出的那种乐观镇定、泰然自若。这一点在审讯、牺牲时都表现的尤为突出。
审讯那一场，江姐的沉静和徐鹏飞的暴怒形成了鲜明的对比。“上级的姓名、住址我知道，下级的姓名、住址我也知道……”这一段话，听起来庄重无畏。在这时可以感到，那群拥有着各色刑具、身强体壮的特务，在她这样一位看似柔弱的女共产党员面前，都显得尘土一般渺小。灭绝人性的毒刑拷打之下，女英雄毫不屈服，让我肃然起敬。还有一个细节让我久不能忘：徐鹏飞说了一段话，大意是说江姐的丈夫死了，留下个小孩谁来带？再过个三年五载，孩子长大了，怕是连爹妈也不认识。这时，江姐转过头背对敌人，我看到她眼里似乎闪过一丝泪光。我能够感受到她作为一位好妻子、好母亲对丈夫、儿子深深的爱。
牺牲的那一场，几次我都是含着眼泪看完的。《国际歌》音乐响起，悲壮！震撼！江姐换上旗袍，整理衣装时的从容不迫，以及和许云峰共赴刑场，向战友们挥手告别的那种“风萧萧兮易水寒”的悲壮，在我心里凝成了永恒！
看到最后被囚的革命者们冲出牢笼，和解放军拥抱、握手的场面，我有些辛酸。因为这毕竟只是一种美好的理想，心中始终忘不了大屠杀中300多人遇难的惨烈。
最后一次看《烈火中永生》是在2005年7月5日，就是一年前的这一天。之所以记得这么清楚，是因为在两天后的7月7日，我走进了中考的考场。正因为心中那一份激动，考试中我丝毫没有紧张，超常发挥考进了重点高中。在我的生活、学习里，毫无疑问，《烈火中永生》给了我很大的帮助。这时我在初中最困难的一段时期里都没有畏缩不前过。
遗憾的是，到现在我也没能完整地看过《烈火中永生》，只能期待着下一次机会了。
