Komm,süsser Tod，剧场版里大结局时发生的事情：人与人的灵魂的障壁被消除，人不再维持个体状态，肉体溶化成LCL会聚在一起而灵魂则源源不断流向生命之根。整个生命体系期待一次reset。面对自我的失去，整个地面充满了恐慌与尖叫。就在这样的镜头里，缓缓的钢琴响起，Komm,süsser Tod的歌声想起。德文的原意我没有考究，据说是甜美的死亡之意。在OVA中，巨大的白色的丽宛若天使，而手中的黑卵却在缓缓吸纳漫游的灵魂。死神都在悲叹世界的结束。无论过去还是将来，一切都在此刻凝固。新的生命之树成长起来之前，大地将被没有生命的LCL覆盖。村上春树说死并不是生的对立面，而是作为生的一部分而存在。无数哭泣惶恐的灵魂融合在一起，被安抚被温暖，如同回到母体。来吧，甜美的死亡！
EVA后来引进国内，被改的一塌糊涂，片中隐晦的台词被剪得支离破碎以及那强到死的中文配音，又一次见识文化部对艺术的糟蹋。
另外，在德语中komm也可以写作kommen，英语意思都是come（准确的翻译并没有come on这个意思）；还有süsser这个词很多地方会写作susser，实际上是错词，在德语中没有susser这个词，之所以把ü写作u，可能是由于不好打出来，或者是以讹传讹：一个人误看为u，随之引发更多人犯错，这是值得注意的。
