里根在当一个演员的时候，他拍摄过空中的爱情，也拍摄过电影杀戮者，空中的爱情是一个爱情片，他在这个电影里面扮演的并不是一个非常重要的角色，这个是里根总统第1次拍摄电影，所以他当的角色并不是非常重要，在里面扮演的是一个播音员，不过这个播音员还是非常有特色的，导演要求这个播音员一定要是一个感情比较丰富的，同时又是语言上比较幽默的一个人。

而这个职位的工作经验也为他后来走上总统道路奠定了一定的基础，里根在成为总统之前也参加过一些总统候选人的竞争，他之前参加过两次，不过全部都失败了，后来终于在1980年的时候击败了对手，成为了美国新一届的总统，里根在当总统的时候也做出了一些比较重要的成就，对于美国的经济发展也是有一定帮助的。
