『捌』 反烏托邦的三部代表作其中兩部《1984》及《美麗新世界》分別那個譯本好附帶加上《動物庄園》吧。

1984你提到的兩個譯本我都讀過了,感覺差不多。很有意思的是,劉的譯本比董的多了四萬字。(結合一下董本翻譯的年代和劉紹明是台灣學者這兩點YY一下)。
找了個節選對比:

劉紹銘的翻譯:四月中明朗清冷的一天。鍾樓報時十三響。風勢猛烈,溫斯頓·史密斯低著頭,下巴貼到胸前,不想冷風撲面。他以最快的速度閃進勝利大樓的玻璃門,可是狂風捲起的塵沙還是跟著他進來了。

另外還有三聯出版的孫仲旭譯的,沒讀過,據說中規中矩,忠於原著。但是帶英文原版。

劉版和1Q84都是新經典公司策劃的,封面裝幀甚至模仿了1Q84個人很不喜歡這點。董版不止一種,常見的是譯文名著文庫的。比較簡約,裝幀(不考慮模仿1Q84的話)紙張字體大小都不及劉版,但便宜不少。

動物庄園一本比較多感覺大同小異,榮本(和1984董本一系列)辭藻很華麗,隗靜秋 譯本比較朴實,三聯有中英文版(和1984孫譯是一個系列的)這兩個版本裝幀紙質都不能說上乘,但都說得過去。另外還有一個傅惟慈譯本不得不提,十月文藝出了一版,各方面都堪稱上乘,譯文更是經典中的經典。

《美麗新世界》沒讀過,網路+豆瓣了一下。
整理如下:1.重慶出版社王波譯在省圖看了這本書,翻譯尚可,就是封面弄的有些惡俗。王蒙的序簡直就是和諧產物,很讓人惡心。第一遍看感覺翻譯不好,第二遍看的時候就覺得還不錯。
2.灕江版 顧惟賜譯,印刷質量很差,錯誤百出,普遍反映像盜版,別考慮了。
3.花城版李黎譯,譯者是台灣的一位女學生(大約翻譯時候還在校讀博士什麼的)譯得非常不錯
4孫法理譯的華麗的新世界。翻譯很棒。

研究物質的科學在某些方面的應用破壞生命,或者讓生命難以忍受地復雜和痛楚起來。

這場真正革命性的革命不應該在外部世界進行,而應該在人類靈魂和肉體上進行。

我們可能期望一個不算真正和平,但毀滅性受到限制的有限戰爭年代。

在原子能得到控制之前,全世界的政府都極有可能多少出現整體集權主義化的情況。

一個真正有效率的集權主義國家應該是大權在握的政治大亨和他們的經理大軍控制著整個奴隸人口;而對奴隸不用威脅,因為奴隸喜歡奴役。培養他們喜歡奴役是現在的集權國家分配給宣傳部門,報紙編輯和教師們的任務。
