Peter Pan is about three children in Mr. Darling's family. They can't stand the temptation of Peter Pan, a mysterious wild child flying from the air. They soon learned to fly. They flew out of the window overnight to fly to the fantastic "Dream Island" while their parents were away.
There are not only ferocious beasts on the island, but also "red men" in primitive tribes, as well as terrible pirates, of course, fairies and mermaids.
In short, everything that often appears in children's dreams and fantasies is here; therefore, there are hunts to fight against beasts, between red men and pirates, or between children and pirates. A real war.
The children were free and free from althood. Under Peter Pan's leadership, they handled everything by themselves, played as much as they could, and went through all kinds of dangers.

"The Promise" is this year's big-budget Chinese martial arts lollapalooza; in fact, it's said to be the most expensive movie ever shot in China. It follows hard on "House of Flying Daggers," "Hero," "The Emperor and the Assassin" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and, in their style, is full of colorful kung fu gymnastics, magical landscapes, yards of billowing robes and weird hats.
The movie is directed by Chen Kaige, who made a more realistic and politically pointed epic, "Farewell My Concubine," a decade ago, but also the less realistic and less pointed "The Emperor and the Assassin" five years ago.
Jang Dong-Gun, as a slave, and Cecilia Cheung, as a princess, play star-crossed lovers in "The Promise." Left, Hiroyuki Sanada as another of the princess's suitors.
The movie's primary flaw is that it doesn't star Ziyi Zhang.
Its secondary flaw is that it doesn't star Jet Li.

Sleepless in Seattle《
Sleepless in Seattle has been billed as a "romantic comedy", but the accent is more on romance than humor. Comic moments are kept to a minimum, and there are only a couple of openly funny scenes (one involves a comparison of "male" and "female" movies -- An Affair to Remember versus The Dirty Dozen). While lacking the unfettered charm and exuberance of Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing, this film is nevertheless enjoyable on its own feather-light terms

The story of the making of The Nun's Story (1959) would, in itself, make a great book or documentary. It's extraordinary that this dramatic tale, tackling the very controversial subject of a nun leaving the order, has been nearly forgotten - even more so when one considers the director (Fred Zinnemann), the star (Audrey Hepburn) and the phenomenal reviews and box-office receipts. By the end of its initial play dates, the picture had become the most successful movie Warner Brothers ever made, with grosses surpassing the $7 million mark!
The Nun's Story was to close on a Sunday night, and The Tingler was going to open on Monday. We got in a huge crew...to spend the day wiring the vibrators to the seats. But that night, just at the most tragic moment of The Nun's Story, somebody touched the mastertch and the seats began vibrating in wave after wave. There was absolute pandemonium!"

The Western genre is one of the oldest movie genres in Hollywood. It started out with the silent films, the Tom Mix movies, all through the great John Wayne films, the Jimmy Stewart-Anthony Mann masterpieces, up until the time when the Western almost ceased to be a genre, because most of the movie-going audiences had moved on to other Hollywood fare. But it was the success of such movies as "Pale Rider" and "Silverado" in the 80s that really brought the Western back to American theaters. Now perhaps that success has not exactly spilled over to today's movies, but the Western is still a revered genre and an art-form. It was those same feelings and that genuine likability for the Western genre that caused "Lonesome Dove" to become such a hit. Also because of the fact that there are countless reviews from critics and fans that had never particularly liked Westerns in general, but they were the same ones that absolutely loved "Lonesome Dove".
The story starts off with two retired Texas Rangers, Augustus McCrae and Woodrow F. Call, who are also long-time best friends. McCrae (Robert Duvall) is a rascal through-and-through, but not without the emotion needed to appreciate the good things about life. Call (Tommy Lee Jones) is a much more buttoned-up and reserved character, serving as the perfect foil for Duvall's McCrae. Call and McCrae run The Hat Creek Cattle Company, in the basically deserted town of Lonesome Dove, Texas. However, this company does not get much business at all, allowing McCrae to have more than enough time to be lazy and loaf around, which sets the stage for some hilarious scenes with Duvall and Jones. An old friend and fellow Ranger of theirs, Jake Spoon (Robert Urich) shows up, with plenty of wonderful things to say about that faraway place known as Montana. McCrae is content to stay in Lonesome Dove, but Jake's words ignite something in Call's mind, and before long, he can think of nothing else but starting a cattle ranch in Montana. McCrae thinks Call is purely out of his mind to want to start another long adventure, especially considering that the world seemingly no longer accepts them as they are. But Call manages to convince McCrae to come along, and thus begins the epic journey.
"Lonesome Dove" is a classic on so many levels. Like most classic films, the miniseries seems to know that it is an epic - that it is destined to become something great. This aspect is shown most significantly with the cast. All the cast members, from the ones with large speaking roles to the ones with only a few lines, seem to instantly understand the profound depth and raw emotion of the story, and therefore channel that into their own performances. Literally every scene is beautiful, purely character-driven, emotionally intense, dramatically real; even the opening credits evoke that peculiar feeling that the viewer is in for a heck of an experience. Since "Lonesome Dove" is an absolute character piece, every actor or actress must be well-chosen and their performance must be acted to the best of that person's ability. There are, of course, the aforementioned Duvall, Jones, and Urich, all of whom having talent that is nothing short of fantastic. But also worth mentioning are the likewise majestic performances of the remaining cast. Each character has something of importance and depth to bring to every scene in which they appear - Rick Schroder as the fatherless and confused Newt, Danny Glover as the steadfast scout Deets, Diane Lane as the gorgeous bad-girl-with-a-heart-of-gold, Frederic Forrest as the evil half-breed Blue Duck, Chris Cooper as the inexperienced but compassionate July Johnson - the list goes on and on. This criteria is the same for all the story lines, as well. Each of the story lines is effective, and they all tie-in together excellently, with not one of them being left out. There has been some debate over whether the secondary storyline, with July Johnson searching for his ever-fleeing wife, is really necessary. As a matter of fact, it is more than necessary - it is essential. July's story contributes to the main plot, but these story intersections are never obvious or contrived.
The story, to put it simply, very easily and firmly captures the feel of the Old West, both as it was in its prime and in its passing-on. That really is one of the main themes of the story - as time passes on, things and people become different and grow old; change is inevitable in this view of the West. All of the characters, in their own way, realize that they must change with the times and situations surrounding them, and that if they don't, they might as well just stop living, because there truly is no other way. This point is very clearly presented with the terrific ending montage. As Woodrow remembers all that has happened ring their long journey - with Poledouris' gripping score played over the scenes - the heart-wrenching and terrific emotion can bring anyone to tears. The miniseries does contain some unnecessary sexual implications and bad language, but aside from those elements, "Lonesome Dove" is one of the few proctions on film that I definitely consider to be undeniably perfect in every way.

《Big Fish》
It is a fairy tale talking about family bonds. When the father was young, it was his favorite to tell stories to his little boy. But when the boy grew up, he thought those stories were all fake. As a result, he disliked his father and lived far away from his father. Many years later, the father caught cancer and didn't have much time to live, so the son came back home to look after him. This time the son realized the strong love contained in those fancy stories and the two forgave each other. From this movie, I learned how to deal with generation gap between father and son.

This film is best described as a tearjerker. This film tires everything known to get the audience to shed a few tears, and the best way to do this is through an animal. A well- trained Golden Retriever is the animal of choice. The story develops around a girl named Akira and her dog Socks. Akira's mother makes her promise 10 different things to Socks, which is more of an acknowledgment of what Akira needs to do to raise Socks. While the title suggests this film is about a girl's relationship with her dog, it really develops into Akira's story about growing up.
While Socks is a well-trained dog that follows the commands he is the only interesting one to watch. Everything else in the film seems over exaggerated from the acting to the situations that arise. The film tries so hard to make you cry that it seems to have forgotten all about the basic aesthetics. In an attempt to create a specific mood the story gets jumbled and lost. From a story about a dog and its master it becomes a love story. The ending seems out of place, focusing on the romantic side instead of the relationship between Akira and Socks.
If you have seen a film that is about a pet and its owner, then you have already seen this film. Everything is predictable, and especially the ending. This story about the cute dog and the owner, that cares more about them than the dog, has been done and is very overrated. The only point of this film is to try to make you cry, and while it may succeed in that objective, the film seems to have lost the story. Scenes seem to appear for the sake of a tear instead of their importance to the plot. While having an emotional reaction to a film can be good, if emotion is only achieved through certain scenes and not the entire film, it is a waste of time, which is exactly what this film is.

Kung Fu Panda adopts the narrative logic of pure Oriental family ethics, which makes the whole story more relaxed.
This treatment makes the "theme" slightly thin, but it is more suitable for children to see.

Rarely does a movie let you forget who you are and become the main character. This is one of those rare movies.
The movie starts out with a story that every Santa believer experienced. On Christmas eve a boy in Grand Rapids Michigan has reached the age where the statistical impossibility in the Santa story ( the size and speed of Santa's sleigh, the north pole being a barren wasteland) are causing him to doubt the big mans existence. Not knowing for sure the boy drifts into a deep sleep. At 11:55 PM the boy is awakened by the arrival of the Polar Express literally outside his front door. Going to investigate what is going on the boy meets the witty conctor of the Christmas eve train. (Tom Hanks)who informs him that the train is headed to the north pole so the kids can meet Santa Clause. Not totally sure that the train is going to the north pole but to curious to let it go the boy climbs on board. The adventure puts the boy in contact with a girl who is a natural born leader and who's belief in the Christmas magic couldn't be stronger. Other characters include a know it all socially awkward boy, a young underprivileged loner who has never experienced the magic of Christmas and a cast of other more mysterious characters such a a hobo ghost. Through the adventure the combination of great music, flawless animation and fantastic dialog really make you believe you are there and let you relive those days when you thought Santa Clause just might exist. The story ends on Christmas day with a line (narrated by Tom Hanks) about belief that brings back those kid on Christmas eve chills all over again. The themes of belief and friendship are a strong theme in the movie and part of the magic that brings you back to a time when you did believe. Its a great movie for children and alts alike and rekindles the Christmas magic that us alts lost many years ago.
I should start out by emphasizing that I disagree with much of the criticism the film has been receiving. A common disparagement condemns the movie as "emotionally manipulative" and "superficially inspirational", much like other films that fall into the category of the "inspirational dramas" depicting stories of indivials overcoming obstacles and hardships that many people seem to hate. Well, I personally found that the film portrays a reality far too bleak and dismal and brutal for it to possibly be considered "inspirational"; in addition, while the film ends on somewhat of a high note, even that is laced with misery and becomes the lesser of two evils for the protagonist. Another criticism of the film – and of the book it is based on – is from the opposite end of the spectrum, and blames the film for portraying TOO bleak a situation to the point of exploitation. I personally found the scenario portrayed in the film to be strikingly realistic, and I think that people who are too ignorant to realize that such a grim existence can feasibly be led in 21st century America need a serious wake-up call.
One aspect of the film that deserves all the praise in the world is its cast, specifically the performances of its lead actresses and the surprising and unexpected quality of these performances considering the particular thespians involved. First and foremost, we have the breakout role of Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe, portraying the overweight, twice-pregnant and illiterate protagonist, Precious. The performance is a revelation both because of how convincingly Sidibe reacts to and interacts with her brutal day-to-day existence, but also because of how completely removed it is from the first-time actresses' actual life. It's always impressive to see a performer convincingly convey difficult and profound emotions that they probably would never feel themselves in their real lives, but for a first-time actress to convey these emotions is particularly incredible. Precious' life is populated by three prominent alt characters; two of which see past her daunting exterior and genuinely want to help her, and one who does the exact opposite. Mariah Carey plays a social worker who takes a personal interest in Precious' case and, in the film's most dramatically gut-wrenching scene, makes a genuine attempt to bridge the gap between the teenager and her monstrous mother. Carey has only ever acted in two or three other films, including the atrocious vanity project "Glitter", but in this role, she de-glams, puts on a convincing and raspy accent and actually manages to deliver a surprisingly well rounded and convincing performance. Paula Patton plays another alternate mother figure in Precious' life, her teacher at her alternate school who takes a particularly personal interest in Precious, to the point of letter her stay at her home when she has nowhere else to go. Unlike Mariah Carey, Patton never did anything to totally remove my confidence in her acting abilities, but then again, she's never actually given what can really be considered a "good" performance, which is what makes her tender and genuine turn in this film most impressive. But the scene-stealer is without a doubt Mo'Nique, probably one of my LEAST favorite "comedic" performers who totally redeems herself and manages to deliver a frighteningly convincing performance, incredibly transforming herself into Precious' villainous, sadistic and purely evil mother. It is an incredible and difficult and extremely brave performance, and is even more impressive considering that it's coming from the star of "Phat Girlz".
The performances are rich and incredible enough to hold up dramatic scenes, but not the narrative as a whole, which, as I mentioned before, suffers from a series of bad directorial choices made by director Lee Daniels. The film's biggest flow is emotional inconsistency: in an attempt to portray Precious' inner feelings, Daniels injects strangely conceived fantasy sequences at key dramatic moments in which Precious imagines herself as a glamorous and famous personality. While the intention of these sequences is clear, their abruptness just totally jolts the audience out of the emotional flow of the film, and they just seem out of place. For a similar reason, Daniels chooses to set grim and dramatic scenes to oddly inappropriate songs and musical cues, which once again just feel forced and out of place, and interrupt the emotional resonance of the scenes. Other than that, the film just seems poorly done at times, or simply unfinished: the cinematography is inconsistent and often features zooms and loss of focus that don't feel like stylistic choices but rather just like mistakes. In addition, the editing is quite disjointed at times, and many cuts interrupt musical cues in the middle or otherwise are just so sudden and jumbled that they completely ruin the dramatic flow. Finally, I just felt that while many separate scenes work wonderfully and are emotional and genuinely gut-wrenching, they are just too loosely connected for the film to actually carry a consistent dramatic arc throughout, as it jumps between Precious' brutal home life to her newfound support in her classroom to her day-to-day activities to her inner fantasies. For example, a major dramatic reveal near the end of the film end sup completely ignored and thus irrelevant to the dramatic arc. As I mentioned earlier, the performances are absolutely spectacular, but the inconsistencies in the film's tone and its jumbled and odd editing take away from what otherwise could have been a genuinely affective film.
